This song surprised me when I first heard it it as I love Joel from for KING & COUNTRY and I love Antonio Banderas and to see them as father and son AND have a song together made me really hyped for it!! I met Joel and his brother Luke several years ago during their Christmas tour before their concert and they were so amazing to get to interact with!! So to see Joel involved in a beautiful project like Journey To Bethlehem got me excited!! This song is such a great villain song and a great set up for Antipater and his admiration for his father Herod and a great setup to show how Herod was a power hungry and ruthless ruler. This is easily my favorite villain song out of others I’ve heard and it’s amazing to see the Biblical Easter eggs thrown into it! Like when Herod is being carried by his soldiers and how it’s like they’re carrying him as if crucified in a possible foreshadowing of Jesus being crucified as an adult, the part where he says “Mine is the kingdom, mine is the glory, mine is the power forever more” being reused in The Nativity Song which turns “mine” into “thine” who shows the true rightful ruler which is our Lord Jesus Christ! Amazing movie and such an amazing cast and crew!! God Bless you all for making such an amazing powerful film!! This is now a new Christmas tradition for my family and I!!

*_Lyrics:_* It's good to be king And have the absolute authority All the attributes of divinity I'm a religion Look how they all worship me Don't have to be good To be a good king Just gotta look Like you've got sympathy Then keep 'em rooked and suffering To maximize your profiting Look how the peasants work down to the bone As I sit up high on my velvety throne Pulling the strings on the people below It's so stinking good to be king Mine is the kingdom Mine is the power Mine is the glory Forever More Kiss the ring, babies, kiss the ring Everybody hates me Ha, ha, ha! It's good to be king And be the one who screams "Off with his head!" Or be the one who's deemed Savior instead It's delicious To watch a man begging for his death I put in a knife and then give it a twist A smile opens up on my sinister lips The joy of the crown is too much to resist It's so stinking good to be king (I just love it!) Mine is the kingdom Mine is the power Mine is the glory, forever more Forever more Forever more It's so stinking good to be king!
