TIME IS RUNNING OUT! Open for Heritage Days in Less than 14 Hours - Journey to the Château, Ep. 239

In this Friday episode, Patrick and Stuart have less than 14 hours to pull it all together for the Chateau de Colombe's participation in the European Heritage Days Weekend! Every year, the Journées du Patrimoine (Heritage Days) kick off the new cultural season with an unmissable opportunity to discover France's finest treasures and to rediscover the culture of the country. This year Château de Colombe will be a participant in this annual event, with the dates set for September 21 & 22, from 10:00 am - 12 (noon); and from 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm.

I agree, you don’t want to rush it - that gorgeous fabric deserves wakeful sewing. ♥️ And it shows that you really are doing the work yourselves. 👍 It’s all looking great, and love the little patio outside the front door. Bonus, less gravel inside, which I’m sure was exactly what you were thinking. I admire your attention to detail, scrubbing the woodwork on the front door clerestory window (I think that’s what that’s called 🤔). Wow, that’s a lot of furniture moving - almost like moving house all over again! Except, thank goodness, no chandeliers to move. 😉 Love all the flowers, lovely. Wow, hand weeding the massive courtyard! If I missed anything, a pat on the back for that too - you did so much! Marble slab moving tip: Stand it on-edge, rather than carrying it flat. Significantly reduces chances of having it snap (better weight distribution). A weeding tip for when you get older (or are simply tired) - I use a big and sturdy “pickle bucket” when I have to get down on my hands and knees. I can’ toss in the weeds and tools (pop on top of the weeds), easily dragged along with me, big enough for a kneeling pad, a handle to carry it all to the next spot, and (most importantly) something to help me get up when I spent too much time in one position. 😉 Just don’t forget to take out the tools when you dump the weeds. [👻 The voice of experience! 👻🤣]
