NOOOOO ONE CARES!!!! That music is still good, sure a lot of it doesn't have serious meaning but the songs are fun and people want to have fun, which is a normal human being experience. And sometimes I'm the mood to be sad as shit so I come to songs like this. You can try to appreciate both.

Lyrics: Just a small town girl, livin' in a lonely world She took the midnight train goin' anywhere Just a city boy, born and raised in south Detroit He took the midnight train goin' anywhere A singer in a smokey room A smell of wine and cheap perfume For a smile they can share the night It goes on and on and on and on (Chorus) Strangers waiting, up and down the boulevard Their shadows searching in the night Streetlights people, living just to find emotion Hiding, somewhere in the night. Working hard to get my fill, Everybody wants a thrill Payin' anything to roll the dice, Just one more time Some will win, some will lose Some were born to sing the blues Oh, the movie never ends It goes on and on and on and on (Chorus) Don't stop believin' Hold on to the feelin' Streetlights people Don't stop believin' Hold on Streetlight people Don't stop believin' Hold on to the feelin' Streetlights people

@@Mistereify I don't think so. In the world of music today you don't even have to know how to sing to become a star. They can do it all in the studio. Look around you can probably count on one hand how many singers have actual musicians backing them up. Most just use music tracks. Thats today's reality. Thanks for the comment.

Thank you for sharing your talent, gift, courage and personality with all of us. I live in Canada, keep checking to see if you will ever tour again, solo or with the band. @Steve22Perry absolutely, you made my day. As mentioned before, I've been mostly bedridden for 19 yrs due to medical malpractice. A doctor wrote the CT report for the wrong patient. Basically he took my results and gave them to another person and I got theirs. Based on this information, a last resort was to try traction for my lower back injury. This caused my discs to shatter. I was only 36 when this happen so they tried a new technique instead of fusing my spine. Unfortunately, I got the worse kind of infection on that first surgery and it took 3 more to save my life. So every time I move it's vertebras hitting vertebras but when they shift and lock in an unnatural position I become bedridden. As if that wasn't enough I got breast cancer 5 years later. I had been given 9-12 months to live but thankfully this was over 13 yrs ago. I've had to raise my kids thru this, often from my bed, and had to fight for my husband's rights after an at work accident that occurred just 3 months after my back went. Everyone faces life struggles, some more than most but you have to find a way to keep getting up and say "today is gonna be a great day", whether it lasts for 5 minutes or the whole day. Your attitude throughout the struggles you go thru, has a huge impact on your quality of life. You have been such an inspiration, to me and countless people around the world. Never forget that you deserve all the love and happiness this world has to offer. I always tell people to enjoy their health, do what you can today don't wait, do the things you love now. I hope you take time to enjoy life and do the things you want to do now, don't wait. I wish I could have seen you in concert in person. Your voice, the songs you write and sing are timeless. So much talent and the fact that you choose to take the time to share them with people, makes you very special. I hope you have a great week! Thank you so much for reaching out, it meant the world to me.

I will never, in my LIFE be able to thank Glee enough for the enjoyment and pleasure and sheer joy that I've gotten from this song and the 80s music it introduced me to. One of the greatest songs on the planet.

Blame the manager. Journey toured way too much, burnt out Steve Perry. Manager refused to reduce number of shows.

If my memory serves correctly, initially the band with Neil at the head was going to be an instrumental. Neil didn't want a singer but his management said that if you want to sell albums you better have a singer. So they got Steve but if I remember correctly he was never treated that well.

@@bradyjessup8835 that’s a total lie. He never got throat cancer. He said in an interview that people thought he had cancer because he was taking his terminally ill mother to specialists and recognized him waiting for her at hospitals. He never lost his voice and still sounds great. He left in 1987 because he was burnt out from overtouring and needed time to grieve the loss of his mother and breakup with longtime girlfriend. His mom died while they were recording Raised on Radio.

I love the bit where Steve stands next to the guitarist and sings a very high note, he is just amazing being able to hit that note effortlessly ❤

It took me 35 years to realize the chorus is at the end. That was Steve Perry's idea. He never took a singing lesson and plays drums also BTW

He got singing inspiration from Sam Cooke. He learned from the best and he even referenced that Cupid song in his 94 solo concert, he sang a lil snippet. It was so cute
