Back in 1984, I was supposed to sing this song at my wedding. That never happened. I lost her 2 weeks before the wedding. All these years, and I still can't hear this song without tearing up, nor can I forget one single word, beat or note of it. I'm 60 now, and I never did marry, I guess I just couldn't get past it. -- Update. I would like to thank everyone here for your well wishes and heartfelt sympathies. I did receive some news from my doctors, it seems as though I'm not long for this world, as my health has taken a drastic turn downward, but I do believe that my girl of long ago, Danielle, will be there waiting for me. Update: 1/25/24, This is George's brother Craig, and he wanted me to post an update. George passed on 1/19/24, with myself and his nieces and nephews with him. One thing he did insist on was to have this song playing on his last day. I would like to thank everyone for the wonderful responses here, they brightened his last days.

I'm sorry for your loss George, my first husband unfortunately was a dude but it was worth it. Otherwise I wouldn't have found my second husband. He was light all over the place!! He died in 2002 and I still miss him. Not that I'm looking for a John Jr, but most men don't have a strong moral compass and lots of things I'd want in a man. Yes, I'm picky but that's ok. We can afford to be. You will never ever forget her and love to the end. BUT, God may have something to give you. Please don't push others away. It took me 3 years to find John. It was NO coincidence, I kept running into him every where. We had 10 good years before cancer took him. Sending you love and prayers and asking for God's divine intervention for you. ,🌹

I could never understand why Faithfully wasn’t as mega of a hit as Open Arms. It’s a power ballad of power ballads and stunningly beautifully written and played. And SP’s vocals on this are simply unbelievable!! Raw, gritty, every note saturated with masculine emotion and intensity. It demonstrates the sheer power of SP’s voice - his range, tone, passion, breath control, phrasing is like no other song on Journey’s records. His chest voice is killer in this - even in those crazy high notes! That uniquely special way Steve Perry delivers a song and makes you feel it in your bones along with him… it’s all here. The message of this song is so good too. Love love, Faithfully.

Now he's gone.......died in a car accident. It's been about 30 years of his death but it feels like yesturday.......the pain of never seeing the person again is what makes death so unforgiving. Ppl can say what they want about the 80s but I felt like that decade was pretty fn cool. I was young but what I've gathered is we seemed more together. The connection between ppl was strong. Now look at us all u hear from tech companies is "more connected, stay connected" blah blah blah the more connected tech is the less connected we r. We've gotten dumber n more dependent but I guess those 2 go hand n hand. Steve perry has one of the most powerful and beautiful voices ever!! So much passion and soul - damn, that note at the end is unbelievable!! He always touches my soul when he sings and I could listen to him 24/7. I have yet to see any male vocalist with the range, soul, passion and emotion all at once as steve has!!! His voice is hard to resist and if you don't feel something deep inside when he sings, something is wrong...

lost mine in OC,Summer of 85. Of course I was a local and tourist girls were ripe for the picking. Think I had Henleys Boys of Summer on and the girl was named Raquel and I never saw her again.

I agree with Random, you must have a awesome story to tell. did you marry her? have a awesome child together? or confirm that ur not gay?

Yes I married her, Melissa, light of my life, passed away 2 years ago, We have two sons cool guys, we're kind of like the three Musketeers sometimes. ( or the Three Stooges more likely)Never too far away.

There is a reason why bands like Journey, Queen, the Rolling Stones (and many more) are still around - it's called talent!

Lyrics: Highway Run Into the midnight sun Wheels go round and round You're on my mind Restless hearts Sleep alone tonight Sendin' all my love Along the wire They say that the road Ain't no place to start a family Right down the line It's been you and me And lovin' a music man Ain't always what it's supposed to be Oh girl you stand by me I'm forever yours-faithfully Circus life Under the big top world We all need the clowns To make us smile Through space and time Always another show Wondering where I am Lost without you And being apart ain't easy On this love affair Two strangers learn to fall In love again I get the joy Of rediscovering you Oh girl, you stand by me I'm forever yours-faithfully Oh, oh, oh, oh- Faithfully, I'm still yours I'm forever yours Ever yours-faithfully
