Does the filling cook well? I felt perhaps we could precook the filling first and then wrap it with rice paper..then shallow fry at high heat

It cooked fine. As long as there's not way too much filling. Also go heavy on the chives. Pre-cooking is ok too. I only used one layer of paper but would have to be more careful so they don't break. Make spaces between them because they will stick to each other.

I have good luck with these when I only dip the rice paper in water for 1-2 seconds. I know it seems like they'll stay stiff but they really do soften as you prepare them. Maybe this will help, good luck!

the chives bring a lot of the flavor in the dumplings 😭 would recommend adding something else that’s fragrant and flavorful if you don’t want chives

@@reenamistry2335typically pan fried dumplings are fried on either side for 2-3 mins, add water and cover pan with lid - so the inside cooks well

mine cooked just fine for that amount of time, i prefer to cook it this way so it stays juicy and the inside is not raw, otherwise i wouldn’t eat it! if you’re scared or prefer another way, then go ahead and pre cook it!

Double wrap is for more like a real dumpling texture cause rice paper is too thin. You dont have to double wrap but outside would be too thin and not as crispy.

The dumpling filling can leak out if you're not gentle enough . Double wrapping will ensure your meal won't be a mess ( especially for a beginner )
