I just realized, the quilt above you. I made this same quilt with bee fabric in centers and black and white stripes and black and nine patches! My granddaughter wanted a "bee" quilt as that is her nickname. She described a quilt to me with white sashing but I thought it needed black so I did this. I thought I dreamed it up on my own but I must have been inspired by yours! Anyway quilt dame out beautiful. Everyone wanted me to write pattern but I just told them how I did it. I will refer them to you in future! I frequently dream up my designs but I do not believe I have ever"dreamed" one up so close to a pattern I must have seen! I free motion quilted the bee squares with the word bee, little flying bees and flowers.

I tried Grippy on one of my older rulers first, just to see how it worked out. I ended up spraying ALL my rulers including Creative Grids and my Quilters Select. I absolutely LOVE the results! I did spray a light coat to begin, let it dry a couple of hours then reapplied a light spray the next day. I’ve been using them for months now and can not tell you how pleased I am with the results! TYFS Mary!💕🧵

I’ve, just order the grippy spray, as I have a couple of rulers, that I don’t use very often, and they slip so badly. So thank you for the suggestion. ❤

I have the QS rotary cutter. It is my go to. Like the weight as I don’t have to put pressure to cut. Just tap to close. I could continue. Price is worth it.

Command strips...good tip. I like my bobbin ring but wouldn't mind checking out one of those Handy Quilter's Bobbin Tree carousels and see if I like that better.

I have the cutter and I log it! It is heavy but it helps with the cutting and blades are very easy to change. You are so right that it is expensive but it’s easy to close and open and it is very useful!

I have a QS rotary cutter. I started out my quilting with it and never use anything else! The weight helps with accuracy, and it helps with your wrist because you don't have to press as hard. The blade is easy to change (I now use the Fabric Hut titanium blades at your suggestion- wonderful!!!) with the magnetic feature. I know the cutter is expensive, but it is worth it to me!

QS rotary cutter is my favorite (I have wayyyy too many cutters--Kai, Olfa (both styles), Martelli, the Tula Gingher that came out a few years ago...I love gadgets). I like the weight and the way it feels in my hand better than any of my other cutters. The weight really makes a difference. It's like using a fabulously weighted kitchen knife vs using a cheap one. Or like using a perfectly weighted pair of tailors shears vs the $5.99 cheapos. It took a minute to get used to they way it opens, but now it's second nature.

I have vision difficulties, so I probably won’t use the Odif spray on my rulers. But I have accidentally had overspray from my Odif 505 spray adhesive get on my rulers, so I got some of the Odif adhesive remover and with one application the sticky is gone. Makes me wonder if you can use the 505 basting spray on the back of rulers! Maybe Mary should try it and let us know.
@joyfulandmerryquilting
@joyfulandmerryquilting 2 ай бұрын
I wouldn't put basting spray on the back of the rulers simply because it's sticky and would pick up lint from the fabric. The Grippy is not sticky - just "non-skid" so it doesn't pick up lint and stays in place. I didn't notice the spray covering up any of the lines on the ruler at all when I sprayed it once, and it still worked well to keep the ruler in place. Thanks for asking and thanks for watching Wendy!

Would you make a review in the Martelli (sp?) rotary cutter? It’s supposed to be really good for people with wrist problems.

I have tried that rotary cutter at a guild meeting. I didn't like it because it is so heavy. My favorite cutter is the Martelli rotary cutter.

You mentioned bobbin clips. What were you referring to?
@joyfulandmerryquilting
@joyfulandmerryquilting 2 ай бұрын
Someone asked me if I use bobbin clips - I believe she was referring to the little round clips that go around the thread of the bobbin so it doesn't unravel when you're storing the bobbin. If you do a google search for "bobbin clips" you'll see a picture.
