I just added this to my bass board. I’m a pro touring and session bassist most recently the former touring bassist with the Motown group The Miracles. I can play any pedal I want. I love the sound of this pedal on bass. It nails the old vintage tones of the 60s and 70s.

I've got mine today and I must say, even better than the Helix model. But the strength of this one is the clean tone. Drive at 9 or 10 o' clock for gain stagging, otherwise it is too quiet as you mentioned already in your video. I am overwhelmed. Pretty sure you can't get a better modelling amp that sounds more Fender than this in a natural way. Some reverb and everybody is conviced you have recorded a mic'd amp, amazing.

I have one of these. I put it through the FX loop on my Peavey Bandit amp. It is a really good pedal and helps to get closer to the sound I'm after. It gets "farty" sounding at higher gain settings so I keep the gain low and use a dirt pedal for any overdrive dirt. It is well worth the money though and a bargain for sure.
@BudgetPedalChap2 жыл бұрын
I used to use it in a similar way actually. I have a small tube amp that can be a bit sterile, so I would use this as a 'fenderiser' that would not only give me more EQ options than the amp itself but would also add a bit more character too. You're absolutely right about the gain too, keep it in check and the pedal is golden 👍

I have the Caline version of this (as well as the Marshally and Voxy ones). I read somewhere that there was a slight difference between the Joyo and Caline, (with the Caline having tweeked it a little) but they're essentially the same. They are really good sounding and useful. I used the American Sound one for recording direct in with great results. The Voice control is quite powerful for changing the whole sound and response. Going into an amp they're fab for getting very different flavours out of the amp. For example, giving a Laney and Fendery sound.

What would be a good cheap option for running my pedalboard directly into headphones? I have various preamp pedals and a Sonicake IR pedal, and I'm just looking for something to power headphones that won't colour my sound. Any ideas? Something that has an aux in to mix a backing track from a PC would be cool, too.

If you're after all the features, look at a used two notes cab m. They can be picked up for around £120 and do some of the best cab sims on the market. It's got a dedicated aux in and headphones out. @@martynrandall7652 when you say run into a guitar amp, do you mean in the front end or just into the speaker of an amp? I imagine eight months later you probably have this sorted out but the answer to your question which other people might be wondering is yes these are all just rebranded and are the same pedal: Joyo, Harley Benton, and Caline. Buy whichever one you can get the best price on or what is available near you. It's a rather reasonable sounding box for next to no money. As the video states...better when used along with additional cab sim pedal or software plugin. I like my ADA GCS5 cab sim pedal along with the American as it really opens up the sound. The American works best in my opinion used clean or with just a tiny bit of grit as a pedal platform. I think better sounds can be achieved out of it if you run other fuzz or overdrive pedals into the American rather than pushing the gain hard but for those who happen to like the gainier sounds of the American I guess it just makes it even more of a bargain. One other thing I would mention is about running the gain low on this pedal. Again as stated in the video the output can get rather low if you run the gain very low and/or cut a bunch of mids. This can be corrected for by running the volume control full up if necessary. If the Drive and Voice are set on the lower side there is no noise issue running the level knob at 100% if needed. The cleanest sounds out of the pedal are found with the gain below nine o'clock (even all the way down) and cranking the level is often needed to compensate for that.
