Yup, I’m buying those hats. So so clean and crisp. Thanks for the video JP 🫡😄

Never forgot how you did one clinic by playing one beat …for a very long time, with few changes. You demonstrated that you can play the same thing and not need to add any thing different to make it sound amazing. You know what I mean lol. Anyways appreciate you Big Time🔥⭐️✅

I got that 20” Crash Ride because of a clinic you did in Bradford Ontario 7 years ago 😮

Very nice setup! How to you find the parallel snare system regarding unwanted snare buzz? Is making less noise? What are your thoughts about the Meinl snare timbales?

Hell yeah dude, can't wait to see what you cook up. I keep seeing a lot of foundry reserve cymbals show up on everyone's kits. I've been eyeing the 15" foundry reserve hats for a while now and I think I'll be pulling the trigger soon. Also wanted to say thanks because I watched the Instagram reel you posted maybe a year or so ago about RLLK/flow and it completely changed my thought process towards improvisation and building blocks of language. I used to just force things and they would end up not fitting correctly or feeling uncomfortable, and now it's moreso letting myself go while retaining awareness of where I am in relation to time. I'm starting to connect the "speaking" part of my brain with my hands and feet, and i find myself improvising with a lot more musicality and good phrasing than before. I was able to get a ton of mileage just from that catalyst, so thanks man!

Man this is all really cool to hear. Keep up the good work. And yeah, you definitely won't regret pulling the trigger on the Foundry Reserves. It's an investment but hihats last forever, and these are a really special pair.

*I have the 15in Foundry hats, and they are the most pleasant FEELING hats to play. They sound amazing, but there is something about that medium-thin 15 edge that just folds around a stick like paper. I’ve never tried the 14s though. I have some 14 Zildjian Constantinople hats that are great, but I’d trade them for Foundry any day of the week.*

Wait wait wait on your instagram I see you rocking some different Meinl RnD cymbals for your videos…what are those??? Also thank you for breaking down your kit and sound. It’s awesome to see how your sound changes from your first Meinl video. As well as the hair.

Yeah I switch our rides constantly but the Tradition is the one I use most often. Meinl was kind enough to create some prototypes with me to help me find a few more options to add to my arsenal, especially for small club jazz here in NYC.

Yo yo is that smaller timbale mounted on the kick drum?
@JPBouvet6 ай бұрын
Yep it's on a bass drum aux percussion mount, usually used for cowbell

No spot kick Mic?
@JPBouvet6 ай бұрын
I usually do, but just happened to not have it up for the video. Most of my kick comes from the crotch mic in my recordings though. Hardly any of the spot mic
