I’m 51 now, but when Oasis and Blur ruled the radio waves in Britain I was 24, and at Art College, studying Product design. How time flies! When I graduated I thought I would live forever and stay young and never age. How arrogant I was as a young man. Lol. Life’s struggles, traumas, and ups and downs was a wake up call for me. Life is never stagnant, and it’s trajectory is never linear, and should never be taken for granted, because life has a tendency to be full of the unexpected, especially, when you least expect it, bringing both good and bad fortunes. Oasis are bloody brilliant. As time goes by, I appreciate them more now than I did back than.

Since the lead singer of Funboy Three died recently, I'd love you to hear music from the Black and White label . Terry Hall was a really lovely human being. He and his band made Bluebeat, reggae, and ska very popular in the UK. I hope you get to hear them and I'd love to see your reaction.

"Our house" "Driving in my car" "Baggy trousers" "Embarrassment" "House of Fun" "Yesterday's Man" and we can't leave out "Uncle Sam" There's loads more also they are one of the most influential bands of the 1980s in the UK

Funny, being in the US, listening to bands like #Blur , #Oasis , #Pulp , #Echobelly , etc was quite niche and once I moved to the UK in '96, I figured I'd be around loads of folks listening to the same, but I found that while there were plenty more #britpop fans, there were still a majority of folks who could care less and were into house, garage, pop or nothing in particular.

Hello Joel. Another brick in the Madchester Wonderwall. I went back home over the Pennines, just as the Manchester scene kicked off and you should look at Stone Roses who were in the vanguard at that time. When I was there James were the up and coming local band, but you could say The Smiths were already setting the bar high and New Order had been reaching it. A friend, who was working in Manchester when the scene started, says Oasis are just a Beatles tribute act styled after the original Madchester bands, but then he is a big fan of Rolling Stones.

Joel, I was in my mid 20s at the time of Oasis and they provided the soundtrack to some of the best years of my life. As I have got older, I have come to the conclusion my best advice for people of your age is just get out there , enjoy life and do all the crazy stuff because before you know it life will be career and mortgages. On a music note, do have a look at the Charlatans as I think they were massively underrated . As a starter have a look at their song ‘ The only one I know’. Keep up the good work.
