@@delinquentish # measwell But to be completely honest, he wasn't himself and the special wasn't that great. His confidence has severly suffered and you can tell. I rewatched his older specials and besides laughing a lot I noticed a tendency for less quality jerk off jokes. Don't know if anyone feels the same, but they are too low brow for me.

I worked in West End and touring theatre for years and literally everyone was fucking everyone else. If you are the star of the show you hook up with someone else on the cast who is obviously going to be below you. But also all the chorus in a musical or dancers are all fucking each other and they are on the same level. Directors obviously hook up with actors. I don't see an issue. We are human being and part of life is sex. We are suddenly treating sex like it is a terrible thing negative thing. It's like the new puritanism. Obviously, you don't make a pass at an audition or try and do a trade-off for a part. But if you are rehearsing for weeks or travelling on tour and you go for drinks together and hook up, so what? I genuinely do not see what the issue is? Telling your staff the cannot have relationships is like some dystopian nightmare to me. It is literally part of the plot of 1984 a 'sex crime.' I see people, in the press now trying to go back to films with a nude scene that an actress agreed to and suggest this is somehow rape as she was pressured to do it. Whereas it was in the script and they agreed to do it. I understand that they want the part but might not want to do, so then don't take the part. It is in the script. I notice it is always women as well. On the one hand, feminists tell us women can do whatever men can do and run a country etc and I agree with that. But then they tell us that women cannot say no when asked to take their clothes off in a movie and so it is rape or a director shakes a woman when showing how a scene will be and it is assault. Male actors get punched in the face and all sorts of things in action. They agree to it and never come back moaning later. This new puritanism is honestly making me sick.

Louis should have taken the cue from Dave Chappelle and pulled the 'cellphones in baggies' routine as he rebuilt his hour. I don't know if the last round of backlash has affected him in any way, outside of material being ruined, potentially. I hope he perseveres. While I didn't give him an automatic pass in the wake of the revelations, I don't buy into the 'predator' angle and take issue with those who do.

What does “he’s always been nice to me” have to do with anything, particularly as he barely knows him. Not commenting on Louis C.K. - more so on that moronic claim that because someone ia not unpleasant with you in a superficial interaction it indicates anything at all about if they are good or moral. I know people who are vile human beings but some neighbor who barely knows that person will assert with confidence how “nice” he/she is over the most meaningless daily encounters.

The issue with Letterman getting ahead of it is that it was a different time. In 2009 it was still bad but the culture was nowhere near the modern day outrage level to try and take him off TV. They also accepted that while the relationship was bad that if the women said yes then it was consent. That would’ve never happened in todays culture. Todays culture would’ve said, and in a way it has some merit, that the staff members couldn’t truly consent as others would because he was their boss in a position of power over their lives and that if they wanted to say no they likely wouldn’t have because of the danger to their careers it would’ve been. But Louis could’ve tried to get ahead of it rather than denying it up until he was forced to admit to it because a story was coming out. Sure it would’ve been better in a sense but it would’ve made no difference. Louis’s actions went public right as metoo took off and everybody was being cancelled no matter what. He didn’t come out ahead of it because he didn’t want to risk all he had going and when he realized he had no choice finally admitted it. In a different time I’d have faulted it but in this culture I can get it. Look at another example like Azis Ansari. They tried to go after him because he had a consensual encounter with someone who then texted him later to say she felt uncomfortable about it to which he apologized for it. People were mad at him for doing everything right. There was no logical way to handle Louis.

It's never a good idea to casually fck with a subordinate, not unless you're in a public relationship. The power dynamic is real. A lot of people (women and men) will submit to a superior if they believe their job (or something else of value) depends on it. Also, with the internet it's pretty damn easy to find people that share your kinks, so there's no need to shit where you work.

Really adam sanchez? I thought it was well framed to make a point in Louie's particular vernacular. I can definitely see how it was uncomfortable for some folks, but he actually brought together both sides of the story. It was crass and crude, but that's how Louie makes his points. It gets one out of their comfort zone and for many people that's when they're most vulnerable to actual introspective thought, and may walk away with perspective. :)

I don't generally like Seinfeld, but how he helped out Michael Richards with his racism situation was admirable. He asked Letterman to let Michael explain and apologize on the air, and they did. Louie did not have anyone stand up for him like that. PS: I know Michael made things worse and his made a dog's ass out of his "apology", but the point is Seinfeld stood up for him and gave him a chance, Louie never got that chance. Rogan, you should bring him on, now that you're on Spotify, who cares what happens, you got your millions already.

Louis did nothing but make some poor, but eminently understandable and forgivable decisions. He misjudged the emotional context of some situations and probably made some women feel uncomfortable. But from the evidence we have he was NOWHERE CLOSE to the line where any responsible adult woman could claim to legitimately feel threatened by it. Yes Hollywood is fucked up so maybe in that social context those women feel threatened by situations like that and are PROJECTING that social context onto Louis- but that is not fair - he is not responsible for the ills of that culture (and if he is those women are equally responsible as they are also part of that culture). From what we know he clearly would have responded to a NO appropriately and gone no further. What the women involved have done to him by publicly hanging him for those poor decisions is obviously MUCH MUCH worse morally.

Going by the accusers written accusations, there was no sexual misconduct.(not an opinion, but a fact). Matter fact Louis did everything the "right" way. Fact1, it was his room. Fact2, he didn't touch anyone. Fact3, he asked & told everyone what he was going to do. Fact4, they could of walked out the door. HE DID NOTHING WRONG!! So, why did the case turn out the way it did? The judge, needs to be replaced.if it can happen to the sweetest person on earth, it could happen to anyone. Our court system helped legally steal from Louis CK. And we watched it go down, knowing he was being done wrong

Are you kidding? When a woman can't leave an office when she wants; when she knows that saying "no" has a career price she can't afford and when Katie Couric stated that when she left the Today Show, one thing she wouldn't miss is Matt slapping her ass every time she walked by. Speculation, judgement and an apologist tone prior to thorough investigation is despicable. Just a few syllables away from minimizing victim's trauma and shame.
