Or be expected to understand the law as well as the lawyers and judges that you have to interact with? Or be a psychiatrist to hundreds of mentally ill people every year? Or be the one to comfort that young child after their parents died in a car accident from a drunk driver? But you still haven't to keep your cool and be a funny guy with a sense of humor when the person you pulled over for going 60 mph in front of a school makes fun of you for eating donuts? Oh also you have to be a great shot with a gun, James Bond good of course, so you can "shoot the bad guy's gun out of his hand's." And you have to be a paramedic when he is bleeding out because it's actually impossible to shoot the gun out of his hand. Don't forget too you need to be in peak physical shape so you can run down anyone. Now you have to be a martial artist too on a crappy pay and a job where no one longer respects you? My whole point is that society has a lot of unrealistic expectations on officers. They're just human and we should expect more of them but you also have to be reasonable too. If you want to see less use of force incidents, you'll have far better returns if you teach kids how to interact with law enforcement.

Disregarding the jokes in the comment section. Fight or flight response is absolutely real and everyong will engage in it if driven there. That is so much of the problem with law enforcement in the US. It's taught to get it to that point. That is not how it should work at all, that does nothing but escalate every situation. Yes, some situations are going to be bad from the beginning. That is a very very small percentile. Officer fears come into that as well. (no reason to denigrate that either, it's a real fear for them, whether it is logical or not) It is. I don't know how to solve police issues either. I do think the biggest thing would be to hire officers based on how they perform with empathy....but that leads to potentially them being swindled. Hired on knowledge of law..........potentially means they wait to long. Hired on instincts..........potentially kill the wrong people. Hired on arrogance..........just don't hire that type. An empathetic officer, given time and a neighborhood can change everything. Everything else is just "cops", and that is always the enemy. (poor neighborhoods across all spectra of skin tones have this opinion) I still don't have a solution, only a personal observation. I wish I had even the basis for a solution. The only thing I can come close to thinking of is a personality profile of officers.....but that wouldn't work either.

"the reason why I got into Jiu Jitsu is because I wanted him to shut up" ... that's what I keep saying, BJJ people are THE WORST type of con men out there ... they're the real life versions of Cobra Kai except for Jiu Jitsu instead of Karate ... they are pretty much "martial arts" versions of Jehova Witnesses: they are EVERYWHERE, you CANNOT get rid of them and they NEVER stop ...

“Jiu-Jitsu” is a lie. “In 1882 I founded the Kodokan to teach judo to others. Within a few years, the number of students rapidly increased. They came from all over Japan, many having left jujutsu masters to train with me. Eventually judo displaced jujutsu in Japan, and no one any longer speaks of jujutsu as a contemporary art in Japan.” The Gracies were taught Judo by Mitsuyo Maeda, plain and simple.

@@PineappledoesnotbelongonPizza2 There should be plenty of places that still teach Japanese jujutsu.

Most martial arts are good but not so practical when you're fighting against a giant. I'd be a kickboxer before anything that sport is one of the most handiest to master

How is kickboxing not a martial art?
@gagebrown21014 жыл бұрын
Wrong. Someone with a year of Jiu jitsu training versus someone with a year of kickboxing training...the Jiu jitsu guy wins that fight 8/10 times. Also, kickboxing is a martial art. So is boxing and wrestling. They are all martial arts.

I feel like he really looks down on obese people which makes me a little sad - I’m slightly obese and I have PCOS which gives me metabolic syndrome and makes it incredibly easy to gain weight and very hard to lose it. Yes it’s possible to help yourself with very strict eating and exercise , however throw in a busy lifestyle and the fact your metabolism doesn’t work like a normal healthy person - it’s frustrating and it’s definitely a challenge. I understand he’s super disciplined and fit , but not everyone is “disgusting and fat and shoving an extra 400 calories “ when they are overweight because they are fat , lazy bums . Sometimes there’s another challenging issue there and sometimes there’s a mental issue where people stuff their emotions with food and it’s like a coping mechanism or drug . I understand obesity is a problem , and most times healthy eating and exercise can remedy that. But it really sucks he’s so negative and judgmental about it, because I’ve seriously struggled with my weight , self image and hearing this guy makes me feel so much worse

not everybody has to be fit or shredded. human beings are different and specialize in different things. dont let a meatheads opinion stir you up.

Are you a Navy seal? No? Then he probably doesn't care about what you weigh. The reason he cares about his fellow Navy seals is that he depends on them. If they are completely out of shape than that could impact them saving his life in a dangerous situation.

Tyler Goodrich Yes , good point , I'm referencing something else he said about overweight people he said in another clip from same interview as well about not shoving an extra 400 calories in your face . This was the second one I saw I guess my comment would have made more sense on the first clip I saw :)

You happen to be in the minority. Your exempt from his views. Views like that are usually towards things you can work on... same could be said for finances, intelligence, etc. those are things the avg person can improve in. Just constructive criticism. A place where you can improve. Good luck brother
