( this is a open statement on the subject matter not in no way directed at anyone, but it is directed at everyone) What happened to this world that correcting someone that had a slip of the tongue makes you a hero it's only what normal people do were not supposed to make a obvious mistake into the act of evil. Now that, that is clear why do people want to jump all over in full attack mode every time anyone makes a mistake. My god is everyone else perfect other than me and the evil one that dared not to be perfect. Humans and society has continued on a downwards spiral the last decade to where it feels to me like we can't sink any lower but rock bottom is still a ways to go. We have to stop all this fake love and fake hate. Nobody can really hate as much as they voice in 2020. From only thinking different puts you on (a so called) hit list well you're in the wrong country buddy this is still America where we should still have a open debate over ideas with a OPEN MIND willing to come to a understanding. Nobody or group is 100% correct nor they have all the facts. This is the America I remember and where we got our super powers from the willingness to learn from others through debate and the idea of including everyone I did say idea maybe why we weren't perfect

MLK was a democratic socialist. The people who shared his vision of ending racism & marched alongside him were not all socialists, despite the propaganda being put forth from the feds that's eerily similar to now. This is the problem with right-wing reactionaries, they dont want history to be questioned because they know it's already been re-written just the way they like it. I'm center-left. I'm pro-gun and i've gone to plenty of marches with other like-minded people on that issue. This doesnt make me a god damn republican. You can paint me as a marxist & claim marx was against guns, but that'd just show how ignorant you are to what marx said about gun control ie. He was completely against it.

Yeah well they should be qualified for their job. If you are a beat cop and have to chase someone you better be able to run. If you got some desk job not so much. Either way if you are not good at your job or are abusing your position of power or a criminal yourself you should be fired and held accountable. Defund them on an individual basis when warranted not as an entire organization make the job less attractive to corrupt by having more consequences for being corrupt.

Did you ever report bad cops for misconduct or corruption?

I used to be security at night clubs and cooperated with police and I can relate a lot. Whenever there was black party, trouble happened disproportionally more often and same pattern was consistent across many clubs, and that's in UK, not USA. As result management employed more securities on such parties and naturally stuff was more alert and prejudiced. Same way men cause more trouble than women, so it is common practice to refuse entry to groups of guys or single ones. Racism and sexism one would say but it works and it saves lives. I see it no different for cops, they have to profile by all sorts of factors, not just race, and profiling doesn't kill innocents. And if there are shitty cops, they do not define overwhelming majority of cops that are good. With same success I can beat up my neighbor because different neighbor stole my bike.

Good cops dont report bad ones though, not nearly enough. The fact that most police departments have the ability to do investigations into their own people is a huge red flag for me. There needs to be an independent board dedicated to police conduct and allows people with complaints to come forward to speak freely because PDs are know to intimidate those who have evidence on cops. I dont think I can truly trust cops until that thin blue line falls because its allowing people who shouldn't be cops to continue on with no fear.

But again just because those people have high IQ doesn’t mean they all necessarily have the intellectual capability that Joe has. Some of his guests have some qualities of both, but I find it’s extremely rare to find both a psychedelic free thinker (like Joe) and an exceptional academia mind (like any of his physicists, psychologist, philosophical, etc. guests) together in one being.

"Rogan previously said in January 2020, “I’ve been liberal my whole life.” During his March 2021 conversation with Baker, Rogan added, “I’m very liberal. I’m socially very liberal.” Rogan added that he is a “big supporter of the military, big supporter of the 2nd amendment.” Rogan, talking to comedian and progressive political commentator Jimmy Dore, “I’ve never voted right wing in my life. "We disrupt the Western-prescribed nuclear family structure requirement by supporting each other as extended families and “villages” that collectively care for one another, especially our children, to the degree that mothers, parents, and children are comfortable." The nuclear family structure is already largely dismantled: 74% black single motherhood rate and that's a big part of the problem today.

True story. Nuance? Complexity? What is that? Everyone's having a knee jerk moment, acting on emotion and even now going so far as to attack anybody not knee-jerking with them. Emotions are high and some with good reason but this team/camp and impulse driven mentality in America is something else.

@john doe who on the left talks about nuance or compromise?
@reddysteddy21954 жыл бұрын
There is no nuance on the left, by definition, simply because the left puts everyone and everything into boxes and categories. They want nothing to do with individualism. And I've wondered more than once if that's because nuance and complexity is difficult, and they simply lack the mental capacity (or life experience?) to deal with it. Listening to Joe's guest is a good example, he's clearly highly intelligent and capable of objective evaluation of facts and data relating to critical issues. Then someone from the left would respond with "you're a racist/bigot/misogynist etc" categorising statement as though it addresses anything. Again I blame social media - previously the smartest people in the room had the mic platform and everyone else had to make an effort to even be in the same room to hear the smart people talk. Now the dumb people have just as big a platform, often bigger. And the media/companies/universities have realised it's far easier to make money pandering to those dummies. Long story short, social media is the downfall of mankind, no different to every other "social" push away from individualism.

It is a problem yes, we should shut this off. We need prison reform and to stop forcing quotas on the police to justify funding. Serve and protect has turned into harassment and they are forced and encouraged to do so because of the system the politicians have put over them. Police have shown they will follow orders so I'm of the mind that at this point they are getting bad orders. Look at commissioners, mayors, and other politicians, not the grunts. Those are the people pushing the harmful agendas and they do this while backing rioting and the B.L.M. movements. They are just playing both sides.

Colion is a smart well-spoken man who thinks logically. Wish there were more people like him. One of my biggest beliefs is to take everything on a case by case basis, and I feel like we would be better off with more people who think similarly.

I disagree that Joe says only some people should have this "ultimate power". Police should never have ultimate power. They need to be held responsible for their actions.

Cops are trained to learn the penal law book so they know what to arrest people for. What they fail to do is to train them first on people's rights and in contrast show them how to enforce the law without violating constitutional rights. It's all about, "what can I get this guy for? I'm trying to get that OT". Because if it isn't power trip, it's based on financial gain.

@@rafa328 this is exactly right. I was trained by Virginia State Police in order to become a military police. There was no training on how to properly interact with the community in general - something you would think is very important, even in the military. It was all UCMJ law(military law), use of force, tactical, and counter-terrorism training. Not that those things don't make sense in the military. But interaction with others is very important too. There was a very distinct us vs them attitude, even amongst our fellow service men and women. Some of the worst among us used it as a rush/power trip to make arrests or compete to see how many tickets they could give. Needless to say, it wasn't for me and I went to college when I got out instead of joining a police force. However, a lot of people I know got out and became cops. Some good and some bad, but virtually all without a healthy mindset in dealing with the public. Part of this problem is that there is not proper training for healthy community interaction. It's very much fear based. The way the police system operates and trains promotes the wrong behavior. If you think about it, all government operations have a problem with customer service.

You can't criticize the cops for "disproportionately getting rough" with the same people that you refuse to criticize, who disproportionately, by a MASSIVE margin, physically resist arrest. Obviously, there are outliers, but you can't simply ignore that there's a direct cause and effect.

The only problem is that when good cops step up and say something they’re met with repercussions that’s not fair to them. So at that point they stop trying.

People dislike him because he has guests they disagree with. But the beauty of the Joe Rogan experience is he invites all different guests, with different point of views, and different professions. I don't agree with everyone he has on, but it is a good thing to be able to listen to people with different ideologies. Is a shame people won't even watch any of his podcast, I can always tell who listen to his podcast, and who doesnt on the way they comment.
