i get some of y'all not liking desiigner in the remix in the audio because, "it doesn't fit well with the song." but some of you are mad because he's taking like a minute in the song and the rapline have to get less lines. listen, if you actually listened to the song you'd realize that desiigners lyrics does have to do with the song. if it didn't it wouldn't be included. and if bts didn't want to get less lines, they'd decline him completely. edit: ALSO if you disliked desiigner taking up hoseok and yoongi's lines being cut off, there's the other versions for you. bts themselves said they wanted to "americanize" some of their music to include their western fans. if you don't like that, it's not for you and it's fine.

I didn't get the references and I could only understand about 5 of the words he said. I liked the ad-libs and the flow (his voice sounded good with the music), but more than half of my favorite lines in the song were during the J-Hope and Suga intro which got cut out in favor of a long intro by Desiigner. I would rather he have contributed 3 or 4 small parts (plus his ad-libs) throughout the whole song (it's a remix so they could have extended the length of the song to add him in as well) but instead the intro and the rest of the song have a completely different feel. The only thing I liked about Suga taking some of RM's lines instead is hearing him say, "Baby, watch your mouth" in English. Of course, Mic Drop was my favorite song off the album from the first time I heard it so there were higher expectations and more risk associated with this remix for me to begin with. The only letdown about the MV version is that I loved the original so much for its hard crunchy bass and Aoki stripped that out of it. I really wish he'd added a deeper bass boom to the drops to compensate but that's not Aoki's style- I noticed a disappointing lack of base in all the Aoki songs I listened to. Overall, I like it. It's just disappointing that my worst fear happened with it losing the crunchy bass. If I'd never heard the original, however, this would probably be my new favorite.

And it does fit with the songs. He’s just using references that some people don’t get. I think they did a great job mixing American rap and Korean rap styles👏🏼 I hope they work together again

The reason a lot of people didn't really like or get Desiigner's part was because he used a lot of slang that isn't really commonly used which made it sound weird and random to anyone listening that didn't understand. Of course that doesn't mean you can't prefer other versions or even dislike the version with Desiigner, but at least try to take the time to understand the lyrics before writing them off as bad or random. As kpop fans, we should know the importance of taking extra time to understand lyrics we don't at first. Not trying to preach or anything but I guess it makes me sad seeing people think Desiigner's part doesn't make sense or fit with the song when it actually does especially considering he and BTS worked hard on this collab.

Maybe I don't get it, but I don't think Desiigner's rap goes with their song at all. Great voice and flow, but his lyrics have nothing to do with Mic Drop or the themes that BTS is talking about in their lyrics. I love that this collab brings more western attention to BTS, but I just don't think the addition of Desiigner made it better than the MV version with just Aoki (which is EPIC)
