Hope to learn how to make the yoke and leather harnesses and hitching info as i created a wagon for my neice i wanted pulled by plastic toy draft horses with real miniaturized to scale leather bridaling straps, buckels, belts and genuine miniaturized hardware and an elevated cradle on wheels to move the horses through their paces. The wagon uses balloon tires and a radio flyer frame work for the axels and designed to carry 18 raw milk cans. Two figures sit up front in 1/12th scale. Colorful yet utility driven. Having those draft horses hitched up correctly would add a touch of humility to this wagon for the work it was called to perform. One retired dairy farmer marveled at an elevator to lift and lower heavy raw milk cans that he wished i was around to see my fictional Delivery wagon in his day with this unique characteristic on all their delivery trucks and horse drawn wagons on soft ground.

Very interesting! We didn't used to see horses with buggies in our neck of the woods, but in the past few years Amish families have moved into our township and they pass occasionally in their buggies. Just out of curiosity I wanted to see how a horse is hitched up, but of course I would not pester our new neighbor's. Thank you for posting this. Best wishes from the Ohio English.

Lucky you! Be neighborly and maybe you could learn more just by watching and landing a hand if they were inclined to let you.You might even get to be invited to a barn raising! Play it by ear..

Wow, thank you. Is there a limit in time or miles that you would use the horse in one day. Very interesting behind the scenes. Thank you again.

It's not only a different horse, but you can clearly see it's a different harness. At the end that breast protection part (don't know the English name) is blue, while the one used on the pinto is white..

Neither

Really... so what do you call a brown horse with big white patches all over it??
@lesliekendall56685 жыл бұрын
L Raine A quarter-horse that's bi- and tri- colored like that is called a "paint". But only the quarter-horse. All other breeds with that coloring is a pinto.

I though that the Amish did not like to be video tape for their religous beliefs. Or I can also be wrong

I also thought they were honest people. They´re not.

the people in these videos are not Amish. you can tell because of the clothing. if they are anything they are either Mennonite (like me) or Brethren

Beno Hackmann They're all members of a weird cult and they're not so well behaved as they want us to believe.

Saartje05 It's true, we like to romanticize their lifestyle way too much. There are plenty of great, honest communities and members just like with anything else. However, just like with anything else, there can be a dark side.

in generally you are right Many Amish believe that photographs in which they can be recognized violate the Biblical commandment, ‘Thou shalt not make unto thyself a graven image.’Photographs are an evidence of pride, in which people are tempted to look at a likeness of themselves with self admiration…Pictures, they say, represent simply the outward appearance, which is temporary; and in paying too much attention to the passing, there is always danger of losing sight of the eternal and the spiritual. However there are Amish communities who have more liberal standards. I Noticed this amish man is not wearing a beard it is possible this guy is related to a more liberal ordnung. or for example he could be a member of the The Beachy Amish Mennonite. this group is using cars and electricity for example
