Man, I sure would like to buy my wife one of these. She really misses truck driving to the west coast and back. She was a fantastic driver, one of the best I trained but her backing skills are atrocious, always got her left and right confused in reverse but I've seen a lot of women like that,lol.

.... and the stock Tamiya 540 motor is 28 turns. If I can EVER afford one, I'm getting a 4:1 gear reduction unit, to go with the brushless motor and ESC that I already have.

i'd turn this truck into a 6x6 peterbuilt trail truck, would look kickass, get some mudslingers/proline swampers/pitpull rock beasts (wouldn't know which one to pick) add a front winch, and some working smoke stacks (similar to the RcSparks project overkill when it was a 6x6.)

Gaskets do 2 jobs, Anti-Vibration and 2 Stop water getting in and shorting out the motor

I'm pretty sure it acts as a heat barrier. Every Tamiya kit I've bought has one, probably because most of their gearboxes are plastic and might melt when run hard. I would assume it is just a standard part they include with their motors.

Seems to be geared way too high I agree. If I get one I'd be putting a nice crawler 80 turn brushed motor in it for sure.

great video! My globe didnt have the plastic on the frame rails when I got it. it was new sealed box to. what you planning for front axle? I have a highlift front in my globe 6x6. going to be using tlt's for my 8x8!

Nice truck, what type of paint did you use for the cab? Did you have to do any sanding or primer before you paint it?

How is the white plastic body compared to the clear one that ships with the Hornet? Stronger? Easier to paint?

The white body (ABS plastic) is more detailed and rigid but will break easier in a crash while the Hornet and similar bodies (Polycarbonate) are much more resilient to breaking but are less detailed. It's easier to paint the clear bodies, in my opinion, because it will always come out shiny and smooth. When I painted my Toyota ABS body it came out kinda crappy, the paint ended up with an "orange peel" finish so it looks a bit dull.

I am kind of new to this so I have a few questions. I want to Buy the King Hauler. I under stand I need an Esc and 4 Channel Radio to control the different speeds. I know I want a faster engine. I need to know what esc and speed dampener I need to upgrade the motor. I also need to know how it turns. I am assuming I will need servos for this. Thank you for your help.
