Hey guys! I am so glad everything made it to you! When I was in London I saw those pens and thought I had to get JT and Anna one each! I also hope you like the tea and I can't wait to see you do the paper chains! Thanks for complimenting my handwriting, I am pretty proud of it but sometimes forget that some people struggle to read it! Love, Rachel x

I have had problems when people send some food packets by air mail. I think it could be because it's been in an unpressurised plane hold. The cheese might survive better if they put it in an airtight container as well. The star medals are campaign medals, they were awarded to WW2 Veterans, who served in the named active war zone.

Pro-tip for eating the Tea Cakes (from a Scotsman): Hold it at the base (like you would after you've sperated an Oreo ready to lick the filling), then put the whole dome part in your mouth and bite it off at the crease. Then after you've finished the mallow part (the dome bit), then eat the rest.

Not true since 1908. The Union Jack was recognised by an Act of Parliament to be the accepted flag of the UK along with the Union Flag. Both terms are correct. The term "Jack" is a hangover from the Napoleonic Wars of 1803-15. Accepted by both the Flag Institute and the UK Flag Registry.

Mark Chadbourne is a great British author. Check out his books. Just got back from spending time in Cornwall. I worked in travel & never thought I would fall in love with a place here in the U.K., but Cornwall is awesome. Its the place of the earliest U.K. Bigfoot sighting. It’s rich in history & myth. With the U.K.‘S witchcraft museum in Boscastle, king Arthur’s castle & St Nectans Glen, in Tintagel & a Neolithic village called Carn Brea. I have a Cornish Piskie, he lives in my purse lol. Whilst I was scoffing a Cornish pasty, I really wished I could send you guys one to try. The bakery we buy them from puts huge chunks of steak in them, with potato, carrot & swede, generously sprinkled with pepper. I reckon you guys would love it, But sending you a couple would obviously be a terrible idea. Where we stay is only five minutes from the orchards of the best cider produced in the U.K. & a dairy farm that makes its own ice cream. I don’t like ice cream, but they do Make the best sorbet I’ve ever had, it’s blood orange and is so refreshing and zingy. Sadly they don’t supply anywhere outside the county that I’m aware of. So I scoff as much as I can whilst down there. I wonder if a couple of bottles of cider woukd make it to you in the post?

I recently sent my aunt in Texas a couple of parcels containing boxes of Yorkshire tea, loads of Cadbury's Crunchies, Tunnock's caramel wafers and tea cakes, Viscount mint biscuits, Double Deckers and Jammie Dodgers to remind her of the old country. She's lived over in Texas since the early '70s. I was going to send out a load of cans of Irn Bru to remind her of Wishaw (where she's from) but she said not to send any liquids in the post.

@@Maggieclayton57 I would send her some Lorne sausages and haggis if I could guarantee they got to Texas the following day. Although I can get haggis down here in West Sussex no problem, getting Lorne sausages is another matter entirely and the ones I made didn't cut it.

Be careful with the Colemans mustard. It will blow your nose out if you use to much. Seriously, use a tiny bit if you just try it by itself. - EDIT. No thinking about it, try it by itself. A teaspoon should be about right!

It says ‘if you meet a Cornish piskey he will captivate with his charm. Don’t be afraid of him. He won’t do you any harm. Folks do say in fact, he will bring you lots of luck, so greet him with a jolly smile. He is a friendly little puck’. Piskeys are good luck elf. Cornish piskeys are different as they don’t have wings.

You should use a little bit of the mustard in any cheese sauce you make, it really perks it up and brings out the flavour of the cheese x x x

TUNNOCKS (pronounced TUNNUKS)is a Scottish company who make CAR A MEL ( not CARMEL) WAFERS and TEA CAKES. The Africa and Burma Stars are actual British medals. The Africa Star was issued to forces that served in North Africa between 10 June 1940 and 12 May 1943. The Burma Star was issued to forces that served in Burma from 1941 to 1945.
