@chrisknight26312 жыл бұрын
@@facecuck9953 If by “fun fact” you mean not fun and entirely fictional, then yes, that’s a fun fact. England doesn’t have an official national anthem. It is something that has been put forward a few times but the bill has never been passed. 2016 was the last attempt, I believe, and I’m pretty sure it was Land of Hope and Glory. Until a bill to change it is passed, God Save the King will be continue to be sung at sporting events. A public vote resulted in Jerusalem being sung at the Commonwealth Games, where Land of Hope and Glory had always been sung, but that was a public fan vote, and was not official. Neither though, are official National Anthems. Again, there is not have a national anthem of England, other than the British anthem, God Save the Queen/King, which I think is atrocious.

I will be honest, for my own reasons I tend to try to pretend I am not English when abroad in Europe.. I am English and French, and I lived and worked in France one summer many years ago and we used to go to the one and only bar near the resort.. One afternoon there were two matches being shown in the bar... on one side on a big screen was Lyon vs Marseille.. on the other side there was a small screen showing Liverpool vs Manchester United. I distinctly remember watching the Frenchmen, sitting at tables, drinking their Pastis or démi bíere.. they were discussing the match very calmly, obviously lots of hand gestures but they were discussing tactics and the like... the players and their performance... very civil.... But from there I could hear shouting , from the other side... I walked around to the other side of the bar to see a group of Englishmen standing, beers in their hands , shouting, pointing at the screen "you must be blind referee! You f**king c*nt!!" The shouting, the rudeness, made me feel really uncomfortable in that situation.. 🤭😲 I was really embarassed , and chose to spend the rest of the afternoon amongst the Frenchmen because they were less scary 😬 British football is basically modern day war-fare.. probably better to shout and sing than punch the "opposition" I do think Brits make up the best chants and sing the best 🤗

It was awesome watching your reaction to my country's tradition with football! Newcastle is actually on the up at the moment from where they started at the beginning of the premier league to now is unreal, because of the turn around so far from the beginning of this season increases our chances of better players coming in when the transfer window comes back around. With the money behind us and our current success in the next 2 or 3 years we could potentially be either premier league winners or at least high up in the premier league, all we needed was someone who was gonna try and help the team improve which we now have.

@@joealyjim3029 yes they are. Nationalism in the U.K. is based on the concept of Conservative Christianity, which was the driving force behind 20th century Fascism

@@kennylloyd7645 No, they are not. Nationalism is the promotion of national identity based on shared characteristics, one of which can be ethnicity but it doesnt have to be. Ethno-Nationalism is an ideology based on the idea that in order to belong to a nation you HAVE to be of the ‘indigenous’ ethnicity, which is nonsense of itself as there is no indigenous populations left but thats another issue. In Ethno-Nationalism the ethnicity is everything whereas in Nationalism it is one of many characteristics that can be used to be accepted as part of the nation. For example, a nationalist would say that The Marchioness of Bath is English. She has adopted English culture and language and therefore is part of the nation whereas an Ethno-Nationalist would say that because she is not White she is not English. The EDL are Ethno-Nationalists.
@kennylloyd76452 жыл бұрын
@@joealyjim3029 no, Nationalism in the U.K. is completely controlled by the Conservative Christians, who, in the 13th Century dropped the " Judeo" from Judeo-Christianity thereby creating the concept of white supremacy, which drives the global hatred of Jews. In fact, when he began his castle building project in Wales in the late 13th Century, King Edward 1 borrowed as much money as he could from Jewish money lenders, and then had them all hanged. Now he was a French Plantageanate man, who was also English, an anti- Semite and a racist against the indigenous Celtic peoples of : Scotland; Wales and Ireland, yet they don't laud him do they?
