Hi Catyear! Aww, you're so kind to worry about me! It probably looked more dangerous than it was. The boat is totally un-tippable! Really, I've tried jumping on the side (gunwale?) and it just won't tip! So I managed to reach down and just barely grab the sinking stringer, thus saving the meal for Ms. Lulu, and frankly, saving the whole video for this week! 😁 Ms. Lulu knows what's coming and she relishes hitting me with her zingers! Wow, great show, John. So much to talk about, but first thing on my mind was your near tragedy with the stringer. When you described grabbing it at the last second I had a panic attack too! I must recommend either a floating fish basket or a pool noodle stringer like I use all the time. With either one, it doesn't matter if they float away, even full of fish, because neither will ever sink. I can send you a short video showing how I made my pool noodle video; very easy to make. Ok, moving on, Lake K was great and you had a nice, mostly cloudy day to enjoy it. Excellent gills and a very nice 13" Sac au Lait. The crispy fish cheese burger meal was excellent. I really like home made fish sandwiches (especially crappie hahaha) and some fast food joints also make decent ones. Of course Miss Lulu devoured hers with delight and seemed to initially be receptive to your love and marriage dreamland. However, she has a special ability to somehow turn your romantic dreams into a nightmare! So, so funny! Thanks again for another great show. Don, Brenda and Lorraine

Hi Don! I have a floating fish basket, in fact, I think it's the same model as yours. It's just that the drag it produces on the side of the boat, makes the boat want to turn to that side, which is a bit annoying! LOL! I should really invest in a floating stringer. They aren't expensive, I've seen them online (www.academy.com/shop/pdp/h2o-xpress™-12-stringer-with-float#repChildCatid=4096761)! If you have a link to your video, I would happily watch it! And thank you for that! Yes, finally, I got to fish in mostly cloudy weather! I've been hoping for weeks for a day like this. The cloud cover really did help this time out. The sac au lait was a real surprise! I don't catch many crappie these days, but when I do, they tend to be giants. Hahaha, you're so right, Miss Lulu had me imagining that she was buying into my dreams, but it was an alarm clock nightmare that she envisioned! LOL! Well, what do you know. Finally someone makes a floating stringer besides me who stole the idea from my KZbin friend Brian from Springfield. I'll still send you the vid on the metal stringer you see me using all the time. It doesn't seem to have hardly any drag except, of course, a little when loaded with fish wanting to go their own way. Speaking of crappie, I made a test pass to my fave pond on Friday just to see what's up. Lots of bluegill, lots of bass (some ok, most smaller variety) and quite a few crappie including a 13.5, 12.5, 11. I themed the upcoming video Winkie's birthday party since he recently had his 15th. I'm trying to test some more interesting lures...can't seem to get away from Z-man stuff because it is working so well. Hey Juanelo!! This was a great episode! I feel bad that the state record perch got away. I used a photometric measuring device and a volumetric solver and determined it was 8.65 lbs. Wow!! I know you're fired up to get into the cab of your truck. 😊 These buns are the best low-carb buns I've tried yet, even surpassing my homemade low-carb bread attempts. They aren't perfect, but close enough. The desperate scramble to get down and grab the sinking stringer looked more dangerous than it was. Had I not been able to grab it, there would be no meal for the next day, and probably no video for the week! Juanelo, use the Bagel setting on the toaster oven. That keeps your buns from toasting too hard. :) Speaking of buns, I almost thought your "Buns" went overboard!!! You can replace the fish but, we don't want to replace you. Hugs and Smiles to the both of you.
