Painkiller is priest's heaviest, finest, most powerful, and unrelenting Heavy Metal attacks ever shared with the world. It will forever have it's place. I guess some bands go out with a bang at their peak whether intentionally or not. I know fans practically died when they heard rob was stepping away. How could he after such a master work. The band seemed rejuvenated and reenergized at this point, especially with the addition of Scott Travis. He added a whole new dimension and technical power to the band. Dave Holland just couldn't have kept up with this change of style. The band sounded heavier and better than ever after several years of watered down material. Painkiller seemed like it appeared out of nowhere much to the pleasure of the fans who were keen on the heavier sound. Then it was suddenly gone just as fast as it came. Rob wanted to pursue other musical ambitions. I know fans were begging for, pleading for, dying for. a follow up to painkiller or something in that realm. What they received was a 7 year break along with a new singer. Jugulator wasn't a bad album it just wasn't rob so ppl panned it. When Rob did return they put out a solid set of albums but not in the style of painkiller. However their most recent album Firepower could arguably be called the follow up. It's the best album Since Painkiller. It has good riffing, memorable songs, and seems like a rejuvenated band. They still have Rob, Scott Travis, Ian Hill, Glenn(studio work only no longer tours due to health issues), younger member Richie Faulkner, and Andy sneap the touring replacement for Glenn Tipton.

HUFF!!! So glad to see someone notice what a pro Mr. Tipton is! I get blown by what he's doing with his left hand here (enthusiastic but quite a beginner guitar learner here). He does not look like someone who's "workin' hard", rather like someone who's just gently stroking the frets, while in reality... This is the level I wish to grow up to!
