It’s a part of the process. If they say they’re deadlocked then the judge has to read the “deadlocked instructions” give them more time to deliberate. If they come back still deadlocked then the judge will declare a mistrial. Same thing happened with the Karen Read trial

Prosecutor said, her door was open, when the police arrived, of course she ran out the door. Ex- boyfriend admitted to the murder and had a bonfire after the murder. The prosecutor and the police did not do their due diligence. They should have examined that fire.
