You do realize when somebody let you borrow, you need to let somebody borrow your car or whatever you’re not gonna always ask him. Do you have a license? I’m in the person I’ve borrowed my car is my boyfriend but you know that they have a license that I have had a couple members borrow my car and I don’t necessary do you have drivers license and you know if they don’t so what have a nice don’t mean you drive Playing victim blame because what she knew was restricted but she might not let him take the kids to places cause she said she did. She wasn’t responsible. Her kids was her sister. I didn’t get my license till I was 34. I had a permit off and on since I was 18. I had to overcome a huge phobia of driving. When I was a kid I witnessed a terrible car accident while watching a Christmas parade where a police car spun out and killed a mother and her infant. My mom and I were actually standing in that exact spot when I asked if we could watch the parade on the other side of the street because i wanted to look at the Christmas display in the department store windows. If you look up Minneapolis holidazle car crash 1998 you will see about it. I’m a JJ fan but some times she makes grand global assumptions and remarks that are not true for everyone.

I have a childhood friend (we are in our 50s now) who never got his driver’s license. He has a state ID instead. He was eligible to get a license but chose not to because he felt uncomfortable driving and wanted to only use public transportation. He’s an outlier in our culture, but there it is.

My grandmother actually never had her license and she is alive in her 90s now. It was a different time but she lived up north in a super rural town in Maine, just across the Canadian border but just to get to a town was at least an hour drive

Lot of people bragging about not having the independence of a personal vehicle... not learning how to operate our most used means of travel is cool until you need help getting to a hospital becase you cant drive. Or someone needs you to drive and you dont know how. Happened to me where i needed to go to the emergency room and my friend couldn't drive me... had to wait for someone to pick us up. My friend got their license the nxt week because it freaked them out being so helpless in that situation. I like being an adult and getting myself places, not begging for rides when its inconvenient for others or waiting for a bus or paying for a uber. But you do you..

There are many cities in which you do not need to drive because there is plentiful public transportation. However, in most of the USA most cities sprawl into the suburbs and there may be some bus public transportation but most of the time it requires a car to get around. If a parent has to go grocery shopping with the children then it is easier to have a car versus dragging them around on public transportation.
