How are you going to leave your dog with someone FOR 10 MONTHS, not visit, not contribute to its expenses, basically forget about it, then try to take it back? The dog wasn’t even phased by them! I’m glad they got to keep him.

They totally abandoned the dog. Hearing the dog in kennel and all matted, that's so sad. Ppl should not have animals just for their kids if they, the parent can't take care of them. I'm happy the judge ruled the way she did! It's what's best for the dog at this point cuz they had their chance(s)

I’ve never see a dog separated from its owners for months and not even remotely interested in acknowledging them. My family dog cried and and wouldn’t stop jumping all over me after I moved out of my family home and returned for a visit. There is no specific law, so she ruled in the best interest of the animal. Judge Judy got it right.

My psychologist daughter who has her own practice in the basement, just had fraternal twins, after my toddling grandson turned two. I wanted to be alone to quietly cry for a bit, because I was driving and won’t take painkillers while travelling. This happened to me in 2019. My old roommate, A, had a roommate, B, before me who had 2 huskies. They had a falling out and B had to be evicted. A decided to foster the huskies because B couldn't take them with him to his sister's place. For the next 8 months I took care of them almost exclusively because A was basically never around. B stopped by one time early on to drop off toys and go to the park with them. He never visited, never sent food or called to check on them, never paid for stuff they chewed up and broke, and had the audacity to message us on IG like "Okay, thanks for looking after them, I'm moving to Texas now, so I'll need them back". We said no, you abandoned them. He made excuses saying he didn't remember the address (to where you lived for 2 months? To where you visited once before? To the place you have the current resident's contact info?). He threatened to take legal action, but didn't have a leg to stand on. They don't know how stupid that sounds lol. So many questions: why would you choose to live in a motel? Why would you live in a motel that was pet friendly and give your dog to someone else for the better part of a year? Did your childrens feelings not matter for the first 10 months? Did your children not ask to see the dog or want the dog to come home for 10 months? Do you really expect people to believe this idiotic story? Gross. I'm glad they lost. Then later on she said that they tried to take the dog away after they told her the daughter that she could keep the dog. It went from borrow to keep with no proof.
