From this video I can see you didn't join the game in 1.0. You see the reason Amber, Kaeya and Lisa aren't available in the limited events is because of the players. They were available there in 1.0 (not featured, but you could pull them from there, they were in the pool), but many players complained that they were getting cons for those 3. Back then, it was almost unanimous that people thought those 3 characters were absolute worthless garbage (obviously a shit take, but back then people thought Bennett was a C unit, Xiangling was a phys damage dealer, and Qiqi was S+, so yeah... No meta had been formed yet). After a lot of complaining, Hoyo changed the limited banner to remove the 3 starters from the pool in 1.1 (or maybe even in Klee's 1st banner, not 100% sure). So there you have it. It was the players that caused this one.

I’m a C6, triple-crowned Kaeya main, and while he requires more investment than some characters, I can clear floor 12 of abyss with him pretty much every time. He’s great with a freeze comp, with reverse melt… I’ve even cleared by playing him on a burgeon-melt team. I had to save starglitter for two years to get all his constellations, but I feel powerful when I play him, and that extra icicle is SO worth it. I agree, they should be more accessible!

The previous Chronicled Wish banner already included the starter characters AND region limited weapons (Alley weapon series, Mitternacht Waltz, etc.) The only 4* characters available in that banner was from Mondstadt iirc, which significantly lowers the character pool.

I'd love to see a starter banner that feature all 3. Like, why make them so rare? If they were overpowered or underpowered, sure, but they're just okay. After a year, anyone should have all 3 at c4 or better. They're the original team, they should be common. You're far more likely to c6 your Jean than Lisa. Makes no sense. Totally agree, Juice! 4:24 Yeah, about Fischl. She's currently the character with the second or third longest wait without appearing on banner. I started playing just before the Clorinde banner so she's been my main DPS, and the only Fischl I have is the one from the shop - she's never appeared on banner despite being so good for a brand new character they just released.

I am a c6 kaeya haver I bought his constellation in starglider shop 3 times I got him in standard 3 times and I take a great pride in this. I understand why people would take pride in this it shows love and desire that true main have for standard characters and it’s true that am old player and it is way harder to get him now ( which sucks for newer players) but I think is was a cool system created only for people who would actively go for those constellations. I must disagree that his cons aren’t game changing. I use him a lot nowadays too. There is one endgame teams that he shines in and where his c6 is a must and it’s toward melt arlecchino team. Arlecchino kaeya, bennet, kazuha is the team i had the best clears with even compering to best vape teams. Kaeya c6 allow to run him as the only cryo option in this team keeping consistent cryo application which allows arlecchino to melt and be more front loaded. If she can vape not every hit why not make it melt with more dmg and bigger dmg on first hits? This team works! And concidering frontload of arlecchino in general I believe it’s her best team that nobody talks about, and we all known the power of father. I have perfect rotation for this team ( which saves even more bond of love then standard Vape teams, which allowes to even more dmg and front load on second rotation) and am willing to share if anyone pleases to know.

In short I believe kaeya cons expecialy c6 are game changing and it puts him in position where he can be played with the best (arguably) pyro dpses ( and any dpses in general) in a team where abilities of that dps are perfectly tied to what kaeya can provide) (frontload with bond of live and melt dmg) making him honestly a meta unit ( not even concidering freeing xingqiu or/and yelan for other team)

Lisa made an appearance in the Natlan Archon Quest, so Hoyo hasn't completely forgotten about her. As someone who has been playing for less than a year, I already would prefer seeing Amber/Kaeya/Lisa on a banner than yet another rerun of Bennett or Xiangling. I hear people say "Bennett and Xiangling are good for new players so they need more reruns," but as a new player myself that argument really doesn't sway me. I got my first copies of Xingqiu and Beidou from the starglitter shop, so I think Bennett and Xiangling already being available there is good enough for new players that want to use those characters.

Funny you are mentioning them I’m currently doing Natlan story with Emilie burning team including Amber for friendship points, she’s only C4 after little over 2yrs of play and next reset should have her copy, my personal favorite starter is Lisa I thankfully got her C6 last shop reset so now she’s more comfortable with rotations.

Lisa is the only starter I've kept in my party. Zhongli out to create a shield followed by Furina sending out her Ousia Salon Solitaire to apply hydro on the enemies and then swap to Lisa and spam her attack to electrocute them.

I have a somewhat similar gripe about the infrequency of certain 4-star weapons on the Weapons banner. Dragon's Bane has appeared 28 times, Favonious Lance has been on 27 banners, The Flute, Eye of Perception, Sac Fragments have all been on 15 banners. There are weapon series who've been out for years and have only appear three to five times. The Waratsumi series, the Alley series, the Lithic series, the Tulaytullah and the most recent Fontainian Construction series all have seven or fewer appearances meanwhile the Bell has appeared two to three times as often. And to add insult to injury the Royal and Blackcliff series have been the only two choices in the shop since launch.

The reason for this is very easy. You want new players to not be discouraged by the gacha system. What are the two best ways of discouraging gacha? Pulling a copy of a character you already own, because in the beginning you won't understand if and how important constellations are. You just want new ones. And therefore, you would also be discouraged if you see one of the characters you already own being featured on the limited character banner. And if a new player doesn't pull early and get hooked, they most likely will leave earlier, because let's face it, a big part of the fun of the game is when you can try out new characters while exploring. And while I agree that it isn't THAT much of an issue nowadays anymore, because the character pool is so big, especially the part about the characters appearing on the limited banner as rate-up characters is a real risk, Hoyo would introduce to their game. Because let's look in the other direction. Who would even want these characters on the limited banner? People like me, who played the game for so long that they start to build characters for the fun of it and not because they need a new character for their team. And these people like me are less likely to quit just because they don't get constellations. Because if you reached that point, you at least put a lot of time into the game, so there is the sunk cost fallacy and you won't just stop playing the game because you can't get the constellations for Kaeya. There are other, more pressing reasons that might lead you to that decision. So basically, player retention for old players won't be increased at all with the introduction of these characters to the limited banner, but on the other hand, player retention (and more importantly gacha retention) for newer players might decrease even if just by a little bit. There is another point. While you are right that Rosaria and Kaeya fulfill similar roles (not so much Chongyun imo as he functions a bit differently), most players will build Rosaria over Kaeya. Even if Rosaria wasn't a female character, this would be true, because Rosaria is a gacha character. Meaning, on a psychological level, a player will have more of a "connection" to the character, because they got her by chance. Compared to Kaeya, which you got for free. It's like when people taste different food. The one that is more expensive is often said to taste better even if they are the same. The only people that would prefer Kaeya over Rosaria are the people that like his design that much more. And those people can still build him. Just maxing him won't be easy, but that's true for nearly every 4 star character at this point if you don't go for constellations on certain 5 star characters. So in summary: While I would like to complete my starter character collection as well, there is really no need for Hoyo to change this system. The only people that benefits are people that already "beaten the game" in that they can beat the hardest content and now they want to max out or at least strongly built more or less all characters. Those people already invested enough into the game that not having these constellations won't break their enjoyment too much anymore. At least compared to other, more important issues. On the other hand, introducing standard characters to the pool of limited characters has the chance of new players being discouraged by the gacha system which is at the end of the day, how Hoyo makes their money. They don't want people to be disappointed because they pull a second copy and more importantly they don't want people to be discouraged because the rate up of their first or second banner has characters they already own.

As a lisa main it’s soo hard to recommend her to anyone. You have to keep in mind that you are one of the very few who have any constellations of her. C1 and 2 are very good QoL upgrades and C4 and 6 are very nice dps increases. It becomes even harder when you tale fischl and Yae into account. Easier to upgrade with both a clear BiS and good/achievable vertical investment. They both are more flexible as well. She and Beidou share some of the same problems, both take much time and specific investments. One of Beidou’s BiS weapon is the serpent spine and she is also situationally useful. There is no way to buff these two as well without also buffing better electro characters. It still baffles me that they are only available once every 6 months in the shop and not permanently available with a limit of 1 per rotation.

@@Juice-chan I just spent Welkin moon and BP, in the first year and a half I was focused on getting all characters on Paimon shop to C6 before they go away and be replaced with new units… well, now we know they will never change, I remember getting couple of constellations for Kaeya and Lisa on the standard banner random pulls, and I have some rules on my account: anyone who achieve C6 I’m forced to level up and build properly, all talents at least lv 8 and equipping with dedicated artifacts and weapon lv 90, nobody shares build or weapons on my account, that help me to see underdogs that nobody cares about, perform close to their full potential, and I have pleasant surprises… and many other characters that people hype I get to not use so much, like Rosaria, I love her character, I’m all about Waifus over hunsbandos but when it comes to play, Kaeya fits my play style way better …

I think a good solution would be to put Kaeya, Lisa nad Amber on a starglitter shop permanently, and only the other characters would rotate. Even if you could only choose one per month. That way in 6 months you could have C6 Kaeya and not C1.

I think Hoyo does it to emphasize pulling for more characters, instead of using the ones we already have. Easier constellations on starter characters makes building those starter characters more worthwhile, as opposed to abandoning them and starting all over with a new character. And like every MMO, Genshin tries to keep players from advancing too quickly.

Yeah this makes no sense, why don't we have the starters on the limited banner too its been 4 years already and I still have C0 Kaeya he's one of the best 4 stars to get but no one talks about him because he's stuck on C0 while you can still get more usages out of him with his cons, and Lisa is usable if not actually good at C4 so why are they stuck on standard only, I'm wasting all my starglitter on limited wishes so I'm never gonna get those cons.

Rosaria > Kaia > Chongyun. Reasoning is Rosarias skill is much more useful than Kaias. It can helps close ths gap and shares crit with the rest of your party. Want to never have to roll a crit percent substat put Rosario with Blizzard strayer in your party. I will concede it is a bit annoying, hoyo releases a standard character just to power creep them by a limited character even if its a little and then forget the standard characters exist. Juice or they could just give us a selector at the Mondstadt festival. If Hoyo doesn't see value in including them on banners then what's the harm of giving us free copies annually. Since we are already doing things with the Knights of Favonius during that festival it makes sense from a narrative point of view too.

They are not on limited banners not because they are bad but because it makes them more rare and interesting. And that’s the reason why the standard banner can still be relevant. Especially for whale collectors.

@@Juice-chan i think diona is couple tiers above them. good cryo shielder that heals, batteries like crazy AND gives 200 EM? yeah, she is quite underrated. insanely good for melt teams (she is able to give 320 EM on top of her other perks with instructors + c6, that's more than nahida can give normally). her cons other than c6 are useless tho

Bruh I think it’s as u say they are starters they are locked for the reason of making people want to get more characters and if u really want those characters u better grind those star glitter but for those who already have a lot of 5stars they get benched anyway so there’s no point of trying to get them though I get ur point but I don’t use them so yea….😅

these characters still have their fans, & a lot more people would give them a chance if their constellations were more accessible plus, about wanting more characters. you get 4*s WHILE pulling for 5 stars, so hoyo would still meet their end goal

I for one, I'm glad that Kaveh is not that frequently on banners, since I dislike him so much. I even wish there was a feature to delete unwanted 4* characters that you pull by accident, considering there's a small chance I may get him even on banners that he's not featured in, no matter how much I've been avoiding him like the plague since his release.
