Juicebox repair of burnt relay. Here's how to repair it

Thanks! My garage was very cold and suddenly my 2019 unit was getting the 5 beeps. Their service department was useless even when mine was under warranty. I lifted the cover of mine to verify my MME had not fried the relay. But one of the other comments below indicated the beep code indicated a stuck relay, and he was told by Enel x support to get a mallet and hit the right side of the box. Percussive maintenance is free. And it fixed mine. I still bought the part on eBay in case the fix is temporary.

I had the 3 flashing lights/beeping with no charging. I unplugged it and tapped the box a few times with my rubber hammer, Now it works again! If it happens again I'll switch out the relay. Thanks for saving me the call to customer support!

Thanks! Your video came at the right time. Mine is out of warranty, and so I need to repair myself now. Seems straightforward!

My juicebox has worked without issues for about 7 years. Charging my Spark EV, and our Pacifica PHEV, and my Tesla model 3 (replaced the spark EV). It’s an older model than the one you show and doesn’t have the led indicator lights. But the beep-code indicates maybe a relay error. Gonna have to take the cover off and look.

This was interesting - we were inspired by it to open ours up (had the same symptoms). We found it pristine inside, not burnt like the video. So we did what we do on a car - we rapped the replay with the screwdriver handle & then put it back together. Now seems to be working. Now the question is, do we buy the relay kit anyway (only a few left) in case it's on the way to failing?

Exactly what happened to me! I unplugged my 2015 Model S and Plugged in my friend's 2012 Model S and it blew my relay in the Charger. The older Tesla must have pulled more than 40 amps.

Bought my juice box 40 pro at the end of 2017 and charged my Spark EV, Bolt EV, and Model X without issue. The first time I plugged in my E-tron, it charged to full and then started giving the 5 beep error, indicating a stuck relay. I tore it apart and the relay contacts weren't stuck, but they were a bit discolored. I have the EVSE on a 50 amp breaker and the e-tron can allegedly request 48amps. After plugging it in, I took a quick look at the e-tron's dash, and it said it was pulling 8kw, so I think there's no way that it was pulling in excess of 40amps.

I have a question . Do you still have the Pro 40 and if so did you have an issue connecting to the New juicepass app? When I attempt to add my Juicebox I get a message device not recognized.

AMAZING, THANK YOU! Mine started blinking 5 times, which means that the relay is not closeing the contacts, I already took it down and into the house to open it, but this is just perfect, having the knowledge of where to buy the parts. Not sure what happened with mine, it is only drawing less than 8KW, may have been some power fluctuations in the grid, it happened quite a bit lately. And a new JuiceBox is over $600 US, so this should be money well spent. There are cheaper ones out there, but I like the Wifi capability of this one, giving you the ability to change settings remotely.

How do you know what the flashing lights, and beeps mean?

Mine flashed all 3 lights and and beeped once every 2 seconds continuously. Does this sound like the same issue? My charger is 4 years old and charged a Chevy Bolt for years then and I just switched to Tesla a week ago

thanks. the dreaded 5 beeps. enel x support said to get a mallet and hit the right side of the box. wow. like a old washing machine. so many of these juicebox go bad. stay away from this company.
