I once met her at a club. I stood way to the side of her as I did not want to invade her space. Her publicist approached me and asked if I wanted to meet her, MCLyte, I almost fell out and start rolling on the floor like Ms. Pattie Labelle in concert. She was the nicest, kindest, and warm, and made me feel like I was the only person in the packed club. MCLyte !!

Why do we always say “female rap” when it’s women but never “male rap” when it comes to men? Just comes across as sexist. They’re all rappers that can definitely rap with the best male rappers too. Ijs

@@TheLovesnowangel The same way you say "male nurse;" "male model;" "male ballet dancer;" "male gymnast" and even within musicyou hear things such as "male (AND female) opera singer and "male harpist" etc. When certain professions are so heavily dominated by a particular sex that the other is a rarity that differentiation will typically be highlighted. There is also the fact that male & female artists are not marketed in the same way in any genre. Usher was not marketed like Brandy, Aaliyah and Monica. The Backstreet Boys and NYSNC were not marketed in the same was the Spice Girls, Britney Spears or Christina Aguilera, and so on. However, when in comes to things like rapping, I personally think that in a situation where the best rappers of all time were being ranked based on abilities there should absolutely be no need to distinguish between the two because rapping is not like singing. But for everything else, sexism has nothing to do with it.
