I'm surprised he doesn't talk about the importance of the ''pelvic tilt'' to enter the split to avoid hip impingement. Also, doing the split with toes pointing up is also considered a middle split in my opinion. That's what JCVD would always do in his movies.

Hey man, i just discovered you and you're something that we don't see often, you're awesome. Anyway am not here to complement you but to ask straight out a question even if you don't answer i'll give it a try. How long to hold a stretch, how many sets to do and how many times in a week to do a stretching routine to improve your flexibility? I know there isn't any congruent answer out there yet but hearing the opinion and advice of someone who already got there might be helpful. Thanks a lot either you answer or not and keep up the good work!!! Am waiting to see more funny, awesome, helpful videos from you.

Hey Juji, i got the book, and trying the routine as well The think is im getting a pain in the right side of my right knee... Feels like a ligament or sort. I don't fell any strech at the hamstring or the abductors cause of it. What do i do? Do i go through it? or just be patient?

i tired to do the splits this way but i reach a certine level lets say 30 cm of the ground and then my toes have to point upwards or i have to lean forward. i get so much pain at the back of my hips if i keep my body upright and my feet flat on the Ground, i dont know if i am doing something wrong or it is my hips bones structure?

It's probably a bit late to ask this question, but what to do if your hips hurt, I don't mean muscle hurt, but rather bone hurt. It feels like they are not aligned properly or something that doesn't allow me to go to full splits
@williamwest70083 жыл бұрын
It's probably a bit late answering this but you should tilt your pelvis into anterior pelvic tilt position by sticking your butt out as far as you can. This will create space for your bones to move. The feeling you're experiencing is your bones jamming against each other.

What about the risk of the socket joint impacting the pelvis? If you don’t stick your butt out you won’t create the clearance needed to expand the range of motion without hitting your pelvis with your leg.

I just did 10 minutes of stretching out each leg individually so 10 minutes per leg stretching out one leg as far as possible and having my knee at a 90 degree angle and getting out of it after the 10 minutes it’s like learning how to walk again for me first few seconds after standing up it’s pretty painful.

Juji, this may be a dumbass question to you. But i'm a noob, so bear with me. Why is it that whenever I do this exact stretch, my butt muscles really hurt? this is not the 'good' pain either, it actually hurts like hell. is this normal? Do I just deal with it? Another thing, I've never heard of someone else having this problem, which to me, is strange.
@Longboard9148 жыл бұрын
you aren't doing it correctly, you may be leaning too far forward
@pandapowah35278 жыл бұрын
Probably you simply have very weak butt muscles actually... side split is a combination of stretched muscles ( adductors/harmstrings) and strong butt and generally hip extensor muscles, which are antagonists to the adductors (which are hip flexors)... so if you pay attention to it, while training the split you definetly contract the butt, especially in active stretches... Briefly, if you stretch one side of the body (agonist) you contract the other side (antagonist), to get the splits you need to be both strong and stretched. Hope this helps ^^

Hey Juji, curious about your opinion since you seem to know a thing or two about stretching. But first off, thanks for all the amazing content. Do you think some people are just genetically fucked and are never able to get flexible? I am by no means looking to achieve the same flexibility as you, but a little bit more than I have now would be nice. I have been stretching for 10-20 minutes per day now for a very long time now (2 years or something) but I have barely made any progress even though my flexibility still kinda sucks. Thanks!
@Longboard9148 жыл бұрын
double your water intake, eat 5 cups of potatoes or yams per day (for potassium) 2 cups boiled spinach or beet greens (for magnesium) and go harder while stretching in general. you should be sore the next morning
@JrFireweb8 жыл бұрын
Fern Doolittle Thanks mate, will try. Always shaking like a mad man after stretching lately so going pretty hard (atleast that is what I think), sometimes a little bit sore bit not to often. My main goal is lifting so it can not compromise those trainings.

electrolytes (potassium, magnesium, sodium, calcium) will definitely help you recover/keep you relaxed and not shaky

Flexibility is a physical quality, like strength, or speed. Some people are naturally stronger than others, some people are naturally faster than others, and some people are more naturally flexible than others. But everyone can get stronger, faster, or more flexible if they train it
