He is better at RB at Barca than CB, that is clear. He wont dethrone Araujo so either he is ok with it or not. I am happy with him and it will be up to him to decide what he wants to do in the future. I think staying at Barca will keep him at a consistent high level. Also, Barca tactically play with 3 CBs, with 2 of them being more ball players than destroyers.

Not only that, his time at CB helps him at RB offensively as well. He was known as a ball carrying CB and now he uses that experience to support plays by inverting and making wide runs on occasion for crosses. It’s been so long since we’ve had a balanced RB since the Alves days and Kounde is that for us. Solid defensively and balanced in attack.

Kounde at RB was the biggest blessing in disguise. It’s been years since we’ve had a balanced RB who can attack and defend and Kounde has been improving offensively ever since he was forced out there due to a lack of squad depth and injury. I think he should make that position his home because he’s both a guaranteed starter and untouchable so long as his form stays in tacked.

A lot of the current right backs are very good in their own right, but have all struggled defensively. Meanwhile Kounde is really solid defensively and also poses similar abilities to other great right backs right now, so I just see him on a different level.

Wait a sec so if a player gets injured and returns on the pitch after weeks off but happens not to recapture his flair for some games means the player has to leave. Barca need kounde he is world class in rb in addition, he is versatile. He’s mature on the pitch and is intimidating to opponents attack. I do understand that there is need to generate capital, but my guy you stating that the likes of Frankie de jong and kounde should be sold in order to get a high profile player isn’t gonna justify the gap that will be left in the squad. That young Barca team needs players who are experienced and I do believe in the near future kounde would be a great example to emulate as a rb.

I think we barca fans have a big problem, unfortunately I have this too. Whenever one of our players or manager is having a period of dropped level, Even if they proved their worth in the past we still judge them so badly. We feel like all of our players have to put out world class performance week after week because that's what we were used to see in the past, talking about messi neymar and other legends of the club.

Most modern managers use this kind of side CB/fullback hybrid. I think Kounde accepted that anywhere he might play, he'll end up in this role, because he's just perfect for it on paper. It can also give him a long term spot on France team, overall it's just better for his carreer.

Barca needs to stop worrying about what Madrid does and focus on developing their talent and making profits off of players that won't be on the squad list come match day. The last thing they should do now is try to put in more money to try to rival the mbappe signing because no matter who they sign it won't turn them into contenders its best to let Yamal cucarsi and others develop and then re evaluate once the talent matures to know where the gaps in your team really are.

He is a solid rb defensively, but is not supporting Lamine well. He does not do overlaps, so Lamine can’t lay off for Kounde, cut inside and receive the return pass in a dangerous place the way Dani Alves did for Messi.
