This issue is not about race or party politics, it's about constitutional change that is being promulgated by activists and a Government and its quasi governmental agencies, hell-bent on an agenda that has never been presented to the public at large. There has never been a definition of co- governance issued by Government, in fact the opposite has occurred with concerted efforts to prevent discussion. The Civil Rights Act guarantees equal rights under the Law. Co-governance would breach this Act.
@standbytogo123
@standbytogo123 Жыл бұрын
The Activists that you mention promulgating Co Governance are probably the same people that will Co-Govern. Surely not? they would never be elected. Well there is no 'elected' involved in Co Governance, they will be appointed, probably by themselves. This is directly contrary to the one person one vote principal of Democracy that we have in this country. It would indeed require a Constitutional change. Decided probably by a Referendum as is being proposed in Australia at this very time with regards to the 'Voice' over there. The Voice of the indigenous people ,that is the Aboriginals who are in fact with out doubt the Indigenous people of the land, unlike the Maori who are not in NZ

I genuinely do not believe that anyone working in NZ journalism actually understand what "far right" would look like. I grew up in Europe and they actually have far right parties in Germany. Sir Apirana wrote an entire book on the treaty in 1922 and discussed it at marae around NZ. They back translated the Maori version to English. It proves Sir Kawharu completely wrong. Sir Kawharu ignored Sir Apirana's version and he also had a conflict of interest as a treaty claimant. All the law written on Sir Kawharu's version needs to be chucked out and we start from scratch at Sir Apirana's version. Lots of previous claims will need to be handed back to the government.

I look forward when (due to demographics) we don't have to worry about this stuff since most of us in NZ will be Maaori. We can consign all this divisive politics into the dustbin of history. We don't want to end up like Fiji. (I do wish Julian would not pedal quack theories about red haired Celts and Moriori (Maaori got here in waves, didn't arrive all at the same time). Are you sure you have the right interprutation of Kawanatanga ? to my understanding it means Governance not Sovereignty ? I have friends whose name is Kawana in Maori and known as Governor in English, members of the family interchange the words , some known as Kawana others Governor , but they are the same whanau.. The signees of Te Tiriti agreed to being Governed which makes co Governance a breach of the Treaty . Rangitaratanga is Sovereignty in Te Reo , and the Treaty vouchsafes Maori Sovereignty over their own lands but not over land bought by Pakeha . The merging of both Maori and Pakeha into both has been an act of good faith , exemplified by the gifting of the National parks by Maori Iwi and Hapu to the Crown for the enjoyment of all .. The Labour Maori caucus and Maori Party are misconstruing the meaning for their own political agendas which are in breach of the Treaty .

It certainly does according to the United Nations Resolution on 'Indigenous peoples' that the previous National Government erroneously signed up to. Why erroneous? because Maori under the definition of Indigenous are not the original ie Indigenous people of NZ. They arrived from elsewhere by boat, as did most people until air travel became available.

The main principle of the treaty was equality for all under one law with one vote. Co-governance is an unfortunate name. Co-management would have been better. There will always be left, center, and right. The thing is to keep a balance in politics and in nature. Maori and others have always worked well together, but things have gotten so radical now, and the United Nations are seeing things in black and white, but we have so many cultures under the rainbow in Aotearoa, and the truth is that we are all descendants of immigrants with recorded histories as proof. Education is the key and that is exactly what Julian is doing. Ignorance can be bliss, but it can also be dangerous. Maybe if Julian had the united tribes flag on display it might help. It is so sad and disturbing to see our jewel in the Pacific so divided. We need to get back on track to basic unity and openly co-manage the country under the main principle of the treaty of equality for all. Moriori will never get an apology because there are none left to apologize to. Think about it.

Section 61 of the Human Rights Act 1993 provides for a civil law remedy for speech which does, or is likely to, incite racial disharmony (for which there is no need to prove intent) and section 131 provides a separate criminal offence of inciting racial disharmony (of which intent is an element). The Human Rights Act 1993 is aimed at giving all people equal opportunities and preventing unfair treatment on the basis of irrelevant personal characteristics. One key requirement of the Human Rights Act 1993 was, it is unlawful to treat a candidate or employee differently based on their: race, colour, ethnic or national origins. gender Section 61 (1) It shall be unlawful for any person- (a) to publish or distribute written matter which is threatening, abusive, or insulting, or to broadcast by means of radio or television or other electronic communication words which are threatening, abusive, or insulting; or (b) to use in any public place as defined in section 2(1) of the Summary Offences Act 1981, or within the hearing of persons in any such public place, or at any meeting to which the public are invited or have access, words which are threatening, abusive, or insulting; or (c) to use in any place words which are threatening, abusive, or insulting if the person using the words knew or ought to have known that the words were reasonably likely to be published in a newspaper, magazine, or periodical or broadcast by means of radio or television,- being matter or words likely to excite hostility against or bring into contempt any group of persons in or who may be coming to New Zealand on the ground of the colour, race, or ethnic or national origins of that group of persons. (2) It shall not be a breach of subsection (1) to publish in a newspaper, magazine, or periodical or broadcast by means of radio or television or other electronic communication a report relating to the publication or distribution of matter by any person or the broadcast or use of words by any person, if the report of the matter or words accurately conveys the intention of the person who published or distributed the matter or broadcast or used the words.

So I left the hall after one hour- and spent some time with a local constable and a [literal] handful of protesters. Julian doesn't engage in discussion or debate. Maybe giving away his fundamental Christian views?

I have huge love for my brothers and sisters, no matter their ancestry. We all have a heart that beats, hearts and minds that hurt. We have different ways in our cultures, we choose to assimilate out of a desire to expand our appreciation of each other’s differences. We respect each other’s faith, sacred treasures. I enjoy our bi-racial heritage in this nation. It’s enriching, when you open your heart to embrace it. The more I seek, the more I’ve discovered the beauty of Maori ways and the hearts of the people. It hurts to witness this unfair representation by this group and it’s leader. I feel helpless to make him stop. So I trust the One who cares deeply for us all, who says “don’t lose heart, but believe that we will see the goodness of God . . . “ Psalm 27 verse 13

Covering it with the label “free” speech doesn’t hide the blatant racism. What do you call skin colour picked off at entrance? How would you explain it? Don’t say they caused trouble, I’ve see the many videos, people just arrive, do nothing, say nothing, but a person with certain skin colour called over to “chat”, often by Julian himself, or his “people”, while other skin- colour people waltz on in past them. For those being stopped the “chats” go like this: “ sorry you can’t go in”, “ why not I received this invite in my mailbox, all welcome, public meeting”, “no you can’t come in, it’s not a public meeting and I can decide”. End of. OR goes like this: “sorry you can’t come in”, “why not, I got an invite and I’ve registered”, “no, that doesn’t matter, this is a private meeting and you can’t come in”. In every case the rejected person accepts it calmly, some stand there for awhile watching the people with different colour skin not even stopped to be asked for registration or anything, they just walk in. It’s outrageous. What amazes me is how calm and dignified those rejected remain, as if they’re used to it, just suppress their rejection, because they know people like Julian hold all the power and will turn it against them. It’s part of his disgusting tour, that he knows he’s inciting racism, to justify his point of tribal rule, which is completely and utterly unjustified. Eg, the little town up north where he planted himself and has caused nothing but trouble for years. Prior to his arrival it was a friendly, welcoming location where everyone got on well, respected the whakapapa, the Waiora. Since he arrived, the peace has gone. Friendly atmosphere overshadowed by stress since he arrived, just him. He’s caused a lot of damage, knew it was a Heritage NZ site, with artefacts of national significance on the land, disregarded, wrecklessly damaged, fined and warned by council. Local Maori devastated, but he continued to alienate with his actions of disrupting visitors to the many special sites by blocking the pathway, caused sewage run over the cemetery. Never an apology. In his speech he says watch out for Heritage NZ, they ll send you a letter restricting action on yr own land. That won’t happen, you would know at time of purchase. He’s lying and scare mongering. He’s the one inciting racial disharmony, but then twists it to call his “.trouble” the result of “tribal” rule. It’s all a lie and he depends on people not researching.
