My right eye has been ringing for 5 months. So what I've done, is to wear hearing protection at all times. And eat better food, and drinking water more, and sleeping longer. This Morning for the first time, the buzzing in my ear has gone down 50%, plus cutting back on sugar too!! It does help.

I've had mine for 6 months. Just got this recent ear infection and it got a bit louder... Dieting has nothing to do with your T. I've noticed my T just naturally goes down in the morning, because your body is well rested. I noticed my T always spike when i talk about it. It sucks \:

LOVE your videos. I was diagnosed on September 7th and FREAKED OUT and my tinnitus was at a 10+. I was in a week of HELL. The following week I met with my long time therapists and he shook the SHIT out of me and shared with me A LOT of what your sharing with me and the second week, I can barely notice the Tinnitus. I chose to TAKE MY POWER BACK from Tinnitus. Thanks for videos and positive messages.

Brent Scarpo: YUP! That's what I'm talking about! I have had it for a year and four months, and initially freaked out, and nose-dived into depression and worrying about it. Then I went through all the steps we all go through, trying to figure out the cause and the cure. The main cure I have discovered is to NOT freak out, and to realize that this is brought on largely by stress, and as Julian says, a learned fight or flight response. Now that I know that, I am so relaxed about it, sleep well at night, and when I notice it, I just ignore it and go on with my day, and I don't let it bother me.

Allenidus nothing is impossible my friend. You have it within you. You tell Tinnitus what you are going to do about it. It’s a total mind, body and soul thing. Incantation of saying I will lead a happy and fulfilling life. Make external changes also along with taking care of your physical health. Let’s use Tinnitus as the wake up call we all need to a better happier quieter life. God bless

There are 7 or 8 types of tinnitus : 1) Somatic tinnitus - spasming muscles pressing on auditory nerve2) Postural tinnitus (a form of somatic tinnitus)3) Pulsatile - when you hear your heartbeat4) Benign tumor on auditory nerve (maybe the calcium he's talking about)5) TMJ related6) Hearing loss related - brain fills in the pitches you no longer hear 7) Damage to inner ear8) Eustachian tube related Each type requires different treatment.Many of the neuromodulation and tinnitus sound therapy videos on KZbin are helpful.There are videos here on massaging spasming neck muscles which are very useful.The product Lipo-Flavanoid can be very helpful.

@binra3788
@binra3788 6 жыл бұрын
How about "fear not for I am with you!"..? The first step in releasing fear is noticing it so as to then notice more about how we set it up or feed it. At some point this awareness becomes the consciousness of no longer being afraid to be afraid - but in a sense using it to be focused in self-honesty and self-compassion despite the dissonance of whatever drama or symptoms are seeming to impose themselves upon us. The grace of noticing is our natural inheritance though I prefer the term inherence. Fear works to block the channel of communication, and then to redefine everything in terms of a self-protective separation. This 'mind-set' will protect itself from anything as long as you give it your allegiance by acting as if it (emotionally backed thinking) is true. So fear not is like saying do not feed what you do not want. If you do what you do not want it is a sign that at some level you DO want it. Fears are often used to divert or displace greater fears. We can only be from where we are at as a step in alignment with what we truly want. The word truly is there because so much of what we think we want is actually negatively defining us. So a craving for something sweet can be driven by a sense of disconnection and such 'escape' reinforces the belief in disconnection and the investment in getting from outside us what we are blocking or denying within - as a result of learned habits from early development that had to do whatever worked to survive a loveless sense of self-world or family.

@@attiqkhan2370 its takes so much time to get rid of it permanently...the only thing that works and i recommend it to everyone is music therapy, binaural beats, meditation. There are so many vids, so I created a playlist and I usually use the brain healing ones and I can see results. I read a comment on YT and the person writing it explained perfectly what tinnitus is. To sum up it was some sort of brain damage not the hearing one. 1 time I got tinnitus came from not sleeping regularly for 1 month due to stress and panic attacks. Through music therapy got rid of it. Then about 2 year later depression hit me so tinnitus started to how up again. My sleep routine was a mess so the pulsating tinnitus on my right ear came out of nowhere. Sorry for writing so much but trust me when I say doctors and pills cant help you, cuz I tried them. One of the docs I went he said that my hearing is very bad. Later I went to another doc did another hearing test and she said "who lied to you about your hearing". If you are suffering too from tinnitus it will go away. If you use the binaural beat and feel any tingling or vibration around the head it means that is working. Might be placebo effect but who care as long as it works.

i'm suffering from Hyperacusis and totally agree with avoiding all negative advices that it will not go away!! this is devastating. here in Holland, the so-called KNO specialists that are supposed to help you, are notorious for telling people this "learn to live with it.. next!" you gotta be kidding.. Fortunatley, later by persisting I ended up with an special therapist helping people with ear problems. She has been my angel the first few months after suffering from it. lots of what Julian says also applies to hyperacusis. dont give up people, it can feel like hell, but it will heal. thanks Julian.

When i first got diagnosed with tinnitus, the first month was bad, the doctors put me on a lot of treatment and there was like a 30% improvement but did not help at alot...i slowly got adapted too it, i started watching julians videos which helped me A LOT! After like 2 months, i was more calm and less worrying towards it which led me afterwards to a whole year and a half of not noticing it at all!! Super amazing! But yesterday i was so tired lying in bed trying to sleep, and mistakenly focusing on it, it got activated..i panicked and remembered how i was in the beginning... now its much better, i realized FEAR triggers it badly, i stopped fearing it, and it reduced to like 50% to where it doesnt bother me as much. Hi Julian. First, thank you so much for your videos. I have had tinnitus for about two years now. I have a few questions. If you could help me find answers to any of them, I would appreciate it. (1) My tinnitus seems to be at its worst when I get up on the morning or after I take a nap. Is that a common occurrence? (2) Also, as a musician, I am concerned that the ringing in my ears could get worse. I wear ear plugs, but I am not sure if that is enough. Do you have any suggestions? (3) I have TMJ dysfunction and back and neck problems. Do you think there could be a connection between that and my tinnitus? Again, any input that you could offer would be greatly appreciated.

Truly on the mark. I usually have no tinnitus when relaxed. Sometimes I do but high stress always proceeds it. I do take a daily medication that can cause tinnitus, but definitely, it comes on strongest when I'm stressed or very tired or both. One thing that helps me. Meditation. Meditation is just sitting quietly in a quiet place gently trying to think just one thought at a time. It's easy and free...but the mindset is key. If you don't believe it can work, it won't. Counting each breath one at a time up to 10 then starting over, focusing on each number only but not forcing that. Other thought swill come. It's basically impossible for humans to think one thought at a time. Just gently refocus on the numbers and let the extraneous thought fade. Don't be surprise if you notice, I just counted to 23 and forgot to start over. LOL. I was taught this in a college class by a professor who said, consciousness is the dance of a thousand drunken monkeys. LOL. He was qouting Confucius I think. Always thought Confucius had a rather unfortunate name, given he was trying to be all about clarity. LOL.

It's been a week and a half ,i am suffering from it .At the beginning i just used to have just a few minutes of ringing.i think it all started from the sound meditation since I don't have any hearing loss , and other medical reasons that can cause it. during meditation i used to focus on sound.after a year of sound meditation and now i end up hearing a small ringing on left ear .at first i uesd to believed that i am hearing a vibration of molecules .i wasn't taking it seriously coz if i want to hear it i can focus and hear it and if i don't want then I didn't hear it.This means it was fully under my control.Now we r on the climax of this real story😂😅.i call it a game changer.do u know who changed my life and made tinnitus control over me? Its pretty obvious,its google😐. I searched in google thinking i have achieved a deep hearing power😂and end up finding tinnitus.i research more and more about it after that i got more and more stress.In almost every video i saw in youtube there was one thing common and that is it cannot be cure.it freaked me out.i stated hearing it more and more at nights and morning . Now no matter what i do i doesn't leave me . nowadays i am having a average of 2-3 hrs of sleep.i want to thanks this man for this brilliant motivating video .i promised from now on ,i will follow each and every detail u told us to overcome it.i recently found this video and it is my first comment ever.i will come here every week to tell u guys whether it is improving or not.

Funny you mention change I just changed the car against my wishes,long story, new one proved to be faulty,now fixed,got worked up about that, and I have a thumping my right ear but I do have Rheumatoid arthritis..I sometimes get it if I lay on my right side at night,I also have a constant hiss that doesn't really bother me. Long periods on the PC using the mouse aggravates my neck .so its probably muscle problems.I have had Labyrinthitis in the past...very scary... that also produces thumping in the right ear. I agree with a lot of what you said regarding a hectic lifestyle.I take things easy, being retired.....and meditate with TM.technique......very good indeed.

So happy to find Julian, Have been having extreme bouts of Tinnitus subjective and objective for 8 months .Have recently changed my diet to avoid refined sugars and plain salt. I do live in a home that does create acoustic noise which exacerbates my level of comfort and adds to the low frequency hum and the high static tinnitus I already have had for a long time. The Low frequency is the worst to deal with as it is only in my right ear. Sleeping at night is the worst. Fear and constant worry is also not productive. A recent visit to the ENT did little help, I was given a prescription for nasal steroid spray to help calm down a possible eustachian tube disfuncthion. Basically he brushed me off as a regular Tinnitus patient and offered no help other than move from your current location to a quieter less noisy part of town. I'm sure many of you have gone through this scenario and felt lost and forgotten with no help in site. This forum is a wonderful way to connect and hopefully be understood by fellow sufferers. Thank you Julian !

This is so true... during the first month of this I was in panic mode.. not sleeping, exhausted, full of anxiety and negative thoughts, ruminating over how it happened, what if it never ends? etc etc. but once I made a strong commitment to myself that I would try as hard as I can to focus on the positive, to remember that there is hope, there are people who described tinnitus as bad as mine who are now in a way better place after habituating to it. I choose to shift my attention whenever I notice the dark thoughts creeping in, I keep myself busy, I take care of my body, I don't avoid socialising and activities I like. I am still learning more techniques to keep more calm and I'm not all the way there yet, but even in a few weeks of making that commitment I have noticed a difference to my life. I can go hours without noticing the sound, and it often sounds more quiet. Don't lose hope!!! I was an absolute basket case a month ago and I'm already doing much better. It gives me hope that I can get to a really good place if I keep it up.

I love all your tips for managing tinnitus, but I don't really get stressed out by it. In fact it doesn't really worry me at all. It's more like an annoyance rather than a catastrophe. As I type this I can 'hear' my tinnitus but it really doesn't bother me unless I focus all my attention on it. Other than that the only time it gets really fired up is if I have had coffee the previous evening, and then sleeping in. When I'd wake up it'll be as if I had walked into a wall.

It's now the same for me. Initially I was more bothered and depressed about it, but now I have a very relaxed attitude about it, and as a result of the attitude change, it really is less, or I have days where it really seems to just go away. I forget all about it, and don't hear anything. The only times that I have been greatly bothered by it, or when it SEEMED really loud (because this is a question of perception, really) was when I was already stressed, or upset, or worried about other things. The happier and more involved in activities I am, the more it just fades away.

There is a drastic reduction in tension if one goes for hypnotherapy or yoga or relaxation massage. No pills or medication is needed, as it will cause one to be addicted to drugs unnecessarily. Drugs cause one’s liver and kidneys to overwork and kidney malfunction is one of the causes for tinnitus. Smile and don’t believe in your negative thoughts, it a bad habit! Relax and go for long walks and look at the trees, flowers and scenery. Time heals everything. Have an open mind, look at the objects of sound like you watch any body sensation. Say repeatedly : ” its not me, not mine and not myself”, ie the sound is not you: not a reality ultimately, like what Lord Buddha teaches. Everything is impermanent and not- self. It’s the attachment, reaction or anger that one needs to acknowledge. This mindfulness and spaciousness attention without identification with the sounds will soon make you realise the “fear and tension” is unfounded. Soon all shall pass, and you will be grateful for the natural laws-impermanence and non -self nature of all phenomena.

Awesome comments! I love your positive words. I agree. This is about perception, and learning to relax and trust your body's wisdom, and not get into a negative pattern with it. The more positive I have been about it, the less it occurs, and the quieter it is. I am no longer upset about it, even when I notice it. It is just like noticing the wind picking up outside, or the refrigerator hum, it is nothing upsetting. I use hot showers and dry sauna too, for relaxation, and when I do, the tinnitus just goes away, it is not an issue. Same for when I am happily engaged in an activity.

This condition is still a tuff challenge and it's life changing but not at the same massively scary level as in the beginning. The biggest mystery is still hyperacusis. Good to see that your still sharing your knowledge. Keep up the good work and please continuous! Your theories on stress and how it affects T&H is something I can relate to big time.

I've had it for a bit over a year now. When I first found out I had it I thought I was going to lose my mind. But after falling asleep to a lot of sound therapies, and trying to make healthier choices for myself (going to bed earlier, drinking more water, etc.) I have found that it has been reduced. I still hear it when the room is dead silent, and still have quite a bit of anxiety, but it has gotten better. I also owe a lot to seeing the chiropractor because of my TMJ and a fan that I always keep in my room lol. Now I only feel the need to listen to sound therapies once every few months or so, just to keep it in check. Just keep trying treatments. As someone who has it, I understand how hard this is, but don't give up ever. :)

Dear mr. Hill, it's a lot of don'ts :-). I have experience my tinnitus since i had a lot of job stress, 2 yrs ago. Since then it kept increasing on frequent basis. Mostly on midday after lunch time. The sound is a very high continuous tone like an aircraft alternator or high speed fan. After noticing this very annoying sound in my head i consulted my general practitioner. After that i had several research at the hospital and sound therapies. This all without any results. Last March i went for a 5 days holiday and after 3 days at location i noticed a reduction of the loudness in my head and it was less frequent. This made me so happy after almost 2 yrs of annoying loudness sound in my head. I appreciate your perseverance in believe that tinnitus can get better and even disappear. Keep up the spirit, thumbs up!

Just by listening to you being positive helps with the tinnitus. The ringing started two weeks ago. I was under a lot of emotional stress, in a complicated moment in my life, and one day I was cooking and the fire alarm in my apartment went off. I got close to turn it off, uncovered my ears and heard one loud beep. After that my ears felt warm and too sensitive and the ringing started after a while. I definitely see how stress worsens it so I'm trying to stay calm. I was put on prednisone one week after which calmed the sensitivity but the ringing is still there one after having started the prednisone.

@JulianCowanHill
@JulianCowanHill 4 жыл бұрын
Humming a mantra of peacefulness can be worthless especially if you don't know why you are doing it. Coming out of fight or flight/ freeze response back into homeostasis can mean the difference between crapping your pants and wetting yourself with crazy uncontrollable thinking and over-activated senses, compared to a calm, clear body and steady thinking and senses that are pottering along in a half-switched off state. Best not to climb a mountain. Try just looking inside you wherever you are, on the loo, on your armchair and see what is going on there. I find salt is the biggest problem, then sugar and then coffee alcohol can have some effect. The most useful thing is if you suspect something is making your T worse, cut it out for a week and then reintroduce it and notice the difference. This can give you clear feedback. Working with tinnitus and seeing what it responds to is the best way forward.

I’m getting that way. You either waste your time stressing or you just think about something else.

Thank you very much for all of your videos, they give so much understanding and hope to avoid freaking out and understanding the situation in order to get better. I am a singer that suffers from hyper-acoustics and tinnitus. I had anxiety attacks and panic attacks for years and I don't have them any longer. Everything you just said in this video is exactly what helped me through my panic attacks when I had them a year ago. Stress can trigger so many parts of our body and the best medicine is to always be patient, don't freak out when you are in discomfort and it is amazing how our body heals; as the very same things that caused it is the very same thing that shuts it down 👍

25 years of tinnitus. I've tried ALL these ideas plus. Everything I have tried has not worked. Concentrating on it in any fashion only makes you more aware of it. I use a 1 hour KZbin tinnitus video at night while lying in bed, not all the time, sometimes. It has helped me to fall asleep, but it is very temporary and never stops the noise. In 25 years, I have experienced a few brief seconds where the tinnitus totally stops. But they are very rare. I just deal with it and move on. I do appreciate your video and your positive attempt to help those with tinnitus.

What is your lifestyle like? Do you work, what is your job like? Do you drink alcohol, eat sugar, eat processed foods? What are your relationships like? Is there anyone close to you that is extremely negative and who you often worry about or fight with, or who makes you feel unsupported? All these questions are invaluable for anyone with tinnitus.

I have suffered from Tinnitus now for 3yrs from chemotherapy. I watched a video on KZbin about supplements that eliminate Tinnitus so I’m just wondering if Niasin 100mg, B12 1,000mg, magnesium 250mg twice a day or Zinc 20mg really help to eliminate Tinnitus
