@@marchealey4893 oh I know it was over 3k. Me and this dude weren’t like best friends so he didn’t give me the exact details. Idk how Martin ended up getting it from Tom but he tracked my friend down like a year after and gave him the paperwork/certification of authenticity that it was one made for Tom originally. Martin Johnson is underrated. Talent/singing/songwriting wise, he's on par with the top dogs of pop punk. Wrote some of the catchiest pop punk songs in their era. Their debut album still has a place in my heart. Literally every song there is a banger. No wonder he became a songwriter for pop stars.

I was 4 when their self-titled album came out. The Great Escape is one of the first songs I can remember in my entire life. I adore their first album, I listen to it when I'm sad, when I'm happy, when I need to sleep - I basically play the CD at least once a day. It's obviously generic pop-punk nonsense about running away and boys liking girls but honestly I could not care less. There's just something electric about the album, or maybe I'm just really nostalgic for the childhood that I can't remember (besides the music I heard on the radio). Just went for their concert for the first time a week ago, basically waited my whole life for that moment, and they absolutely crushed it. They've gotten much better with age. Can't wait for the rest of your series!

I wasn’t a fan of anything they did after, but man they were great. Super nice guys too, I met them after the show cause they were just hanging out outside the venue. I ran out on hello goodbye to meet them and basically just hung out with them with a few other fans. One of my favorite concert experiences

Great video as always! The self-titled is a great record for me, yes it is on the cheesy side and it's very high-schoolish, but it has some of the catchiest pop-rock/punk songs ever, even songs like "Heels Over Head" or "5 Minutes to Midnight" which are deep cuts will be forever stuck in your mind after first listen. Martin Johnson was like 20 when he wrote these songs, no wonder that he became a songwriter for pop stars, like him or not the dude is an S-tier songwriter. Also check The Night Game, different from BLG but great music!

Not gonna lie, I am definitely a Boys Like Girls stan. I still have my Warped Tour '07 poster (it was my first Warped Tour). I went to the Soundtrack of your Summer tour, too. I can listen through that debut album start-to-finish without skipping a track, and each one struck my little emo heart. One of the most memorable albums of that era for me. Crazy World honestly is a guilty pleasure of mine and I listen to it the whole way through too, even the county tracks (especially Shoot). I listen to it more than Love Drunk honestly, and there are a few tracks I will legit defend. The First Time is one of my all-time favorite Boys Like Girls tracks. Stuck in the Middle and Hey You are also super memorable. I even really enjoy the new album. The Outside and Language are both ABSOLUTE bangers. All this is coming from a guy who also listens to prog metal. 😂 Really wish we could get vinyl pressings of the middle albums, too. Got the first one on my shelf and the new one on preorder.

People tend to forget, ignore or just flat have no idea about their CrazyWorld album because it was frankly more Country than Pop Punk, but i honestly think it had some great tunes on it, and it's a shame it never really went anywhere, and an even bigger shame that the Country music stuff got to guitarist Paul DiGiovanni's head, as he's now a big time Country music songwriter and didn't even reunite with the band earlier this year due to being too busy with the Country music stuff. Oh well, at least Martin & John are still in it.

Ngl, the 1st time I heard of Boys Like Girls was through my 7th grade English class. It was like a grammar assignment, and on the assignment it had other well known artists at the time; except for Boys Like Girls. I remember when I 1st heard that name I thought it was a song, but then what's my teacher explained to me that it was an artist I thought that was a weird name for a band. This was around 2016-2017-ish, so I don't think any of their songs were on the radio, so I'm pretty sure that nobody in my class knew who they were.
