Martin Johnson: "It wasn't like the pressure of the industry or record sales. We don't care about that stuff, that's not a big deal." Heart Heart Heartbreak releases: "The lack of success of the single... really kinda affected the band." Wonderful video, love jumping into the bands I know nothing about with you. Always the most fun experiences for me here 👍🏽

Your channel is an absolute gem! Thank you for sincerely and graciously covering an era/genres of music that is often overlooked and viewed by many as “the music they listened to before they grew up.” With that sentiment permeating this era, even fans tend to view the artists as a phase they grew out of. Which is par for the course of growing up and maturing - tastes change. But there is genuine talent in this scene. Monster hits. And you can hear this eras influence all over the Top 40 today. (Dibs on the “Travis Barker successfully cloned himself” theory) This corner of Rock n Roll history is continually disregarded, save a few artists that broke through. But make no mistake, the impact that Warped Tour acts and the genres that existed in and around the scene are an important part of the Rock n Roll history. Thank you for carrying the torch! Cheers to you beautiful cozy bastard!

Not gonna lie, I don't remember getting past the single of Love Drunk when that album came out 😅. But seems like I wasn't missing too much, save for the few songs you said stood out to you. But that first record? MAN. Many a listen on my iPod Nano with its little customized case. From the iconic album art to the peak emo-grunge look the band had at that time, it was too special to produce a second go round. As someone who just hit 30 (still can't believe that.... it hurts.), this was such a nice nostalgia trip and couldn't have asked for a better rep! Love ya Cozy! xxXXx

I love BLG, my favorite band and anytime I listen to their music it always makes me in a good mood. While everyone else had Fallout Boy, Panic At The Disco and All Time Low I had them and I just prefer their songs as I’m a sucker for songs about romance and everything around them. I love all of their albums and do enjoy Crazy World but I’m pretty split I like half of the songs and not the biggest fan of the others. I first found the band because my uncle got me an MP3 that had Great Escape on it, I loved the first album and then Love Drunk is my favorite album. Crazy World came out at a good time for me during middle school which was a hard time for me so I do have a soft spot for it because of that. They never had the longevity of other bands but they will always be my favorite

Recently in an IG live, Martin called the band a "pop band". I seriously adore this band, ironically and unironically. They have a new record coming out next year - they played a new song, The Outside, at their recent shows. It's got the vibe of their debut album but a little more grown up. You can find videos of it on KZbin. Also, I agree, Crazy World pretty much sucks, save for The First Time and Be Your Everything (despite everything... "I'll be your shelter, I'll be your storm" still hits). But anyways, great video! Made me laugh a lot.

I’ve watched their show in Indonesia, yes they did performed the song “The Outside”. Before that, they did it in Manila too (I did a research for the set list and video from fans before coming to the concert). I am an OG fan of them, I listened to their music since MySpace. I hope they’re gonna release a great album like the first/second one with a more grown-up vibe.

Gotta do a video on all the pop punk bands shown on cartoon network throughout the 00s. Hell not even just pop punk there were bands like The Hives or The Thermals I first heard on there. Let's not forget All American Rejects Bionicle commercial.

honestly I thought that the crazy world album was a really good album and what made it even crazier is back at the time that that album came out I was the type of person who was pop punk music or nothing and even then I thought it was a good album. my music taste has grown to include a bunch of genres pop punk still being my favorite but songs like be your everything, stuck in the middle, leaving California, and surprising even shoot are some of my favorites from boys like girls. I know that's an unpopular opinion but I'm glad that album came out. I will say that I'm super interested in hearing what the other album 3 would have been. but great video loved hearing your opinions as well keep up the good work!!!

I 100% agree. I know the album sounds more Country than Pop Punk(and I normally hate Country), but I really enjoyed it. I began heavily listening to it in my senior year of High School, and to listen to some of those songs now...yeah, I can't say that some of them aren't a bit corney, but the nostalgia hits hard. I'm glad they were bold enough to take a different musical turn.

@@AJJohnson-f2k that’s what I’ve heard from several dudes in bands that were on the bamboozle roadshow tour with them. i sure thought their downfall started when fans found out bryan, the original bass player, didnt leave the band, he was kicked out of the band. that also led to some comments and rumors that martin was jealous of bryan that's why he kicked him out. and yeah add the country pop ass album they released back in 2012 as their 3rd album, the hate train overloaded. also the fact that they never invited bryan back to the band for the reunion stuff, it also made me thought yeah it must be personal. well at the end of the day i have no idea what actually was happening, i was just absorbing 2nd hand rumors and info's

Great video, man! I remember adoring the Crazy World record when it came out (I was 17 at the time). I still enjoy listening back through it from time to time, but absolutely agree a lot of it is genuinely cringe… like the line “it smells like Boys Like Girls is back” LOL. So bad. Anyway, I’d love to see what Boys Like Girls could put together in the modern era if they were to reunite.

I love BLG, they were legit my whole life back when i was a teenager and it's crazy to me how they look like a Heavy Metal band in Crazy World Era but they sound like a Disney-ish country fare music or something. If you see pictures of their live performances back in 2012 you wouldn't think their songs are full of corn. They didn't look how they sound. lol

Couldn't disagree with you anymore than I possibly do about Crazy World. Crazy World isn't a country album. It's a unique piece of art. I hate country, and Martin is an amazing songwriter, and the combination of the shift away from pop rock to really what amounts to more of pop/rock/americana/country is pretty unique. I just don't catch how you feel this is the worst album of all time.
