Love this vlog Julie! Ours is closed with a door for access. It stores our shoes, keys , vacum cleaner but now I want to renovate it after seeing all these great ideas! I do love seeing the under-stairs wine storage. Looks so beautiful.

I love that look! But I don’t drink wine so it would be for WOW factor only 😂

This is a fantastic source of inspiration for making the most of unused spaces. Your innovative ideas and creative design solutions for under-the-stair spaces are not only practical but also aesthetically pleasing. I particularly loved how you turned these often overlooked areas into functional and stylish additions to the home.

Thank you Julie! I absolutely loved this video. For me, it is perfect timing!!!!!! I am just now painting the triangular wall in front of my dining room set matte black. It leads upstairs to the bedrooms. For now, I want to place a bench or round stool against it? Whenever company comes over I need an seat I can pull over? BTW the front door leads right to the back door and this walk is directly in the middle. Thank you

I love the extra seating idea. Try an upholstered bench so it’s cushioned and more comfortable as makeshift seating. Thank you for the love and support ☺️💖🙏🏻

Thank you for this Julie, lots of lovely ideas & great advice. Would a long mirror on the inside of the door under the stairs be ok in Feng Shui?
@JulieKhuu Жыл бұрын
No mirrors on doors ever. The constant opening/shutting creates unstable negative energy. Best if it’s on a wall adjacent to the door 👍

If you have seating in front of the fireplace, that would make sense. Otherwise, this feature may be cosmetic only

Julie, I use mine for storage but also have my floor safe in there…what is the feng shui on this please? How can I make good feng shui if it’s not. Does this affect my money flow? Is it better to have a small hidden door or an easy access hidden door. Originally the door was in the bathroom under the stairs but we took the closet out and made the bathroom bigger with an ADA walk in shower & bathroom so the door was moved to the outside wall. I plan on hiding the door behind a ledger wall that opens where the door is. Can you please comment?

Hi julie, could you help me out? What do you do in an open concept kitchen in a long and narrow space where, if I put the couch alongside the longest wall I'm facing the the kitchen. I actually want my couch away from the kitchen but that short wall has doors in it and isn't long enough to fit an oversized couch. The only other option is to face the couch towards the front window. Thanks for your thoughts in advance

Hey! It would be nice to have a general guide of how to choose the right hardware for our interiors, like do's and dont's. How do we choose the right material? What are some brands you recommend? Which finish matches with what? Etc. Thanks! :)@@JulieKhuu

17:11 I have a wide stairs with a big space under stairs. So is it still a bad Feng Shui for me to build a riding-sleeping nook under my stairs, with the fact i'm living alone with my dog? None humans will pass up and down except for me, so none negative energies right?
@JulieKhuu Жыл бұрын
Technically, you are correct. But the idea of having a sloped surface above you while you read/sleep/nap is not ideal according to FS since the “poison arrow” slope is angled towards you.

So many possibilities I wasn't aware existed, my head is spinning (in a good way)! ^__^ My only stairway is a boring 90s half-landing one, with a builder grade closet under. Or so I thought... On the upper side, on the other side of the wall is my office. I could open the wall and make some build in bookshelves or the like... On the lower side is the bathroom, I could add open storage... Or I open the closet instead and use it for a statement corner... Or open both the closet and the office wall to open it up on the corridor... Although I probably should use the many storage ideas to tidy up the closet until I get to the move walls around. xD
