Had swimming lessons twice a week for a whole year. Best part was when the teacher had the brilliant idea to film everyone while swimming and later watch the video in class and to have everyone pick apart each kids swimming technique individually. Noped out of that shit real fast. I was unfortunately sick right that day. What a bummer.

I'm in college now, it seems daunting but honestly.. go with the flow, have fun, don't let anyone dictate how you live your life and you do YOU. I had a blast in high school. Middle school was alright but there's no rush. What helped me a lot during middle school is realizing that people care more about what you think of them than what they think of you. So be yourself, man. Have fun!! ❤️❤️ Come back to this comment if you need any advice or help.

You'll be alright. Just go with the flow. Have fun and don't worry too much about things that won't really matter. Scandals in my school district: - a teacher apparently abused animals (he taught/teaches vet tech stuff) - some kid painted a nerf gun black and brought it to school for a veteran project after being told he wasn’t allowed to do so. He lied to his parents about it who then tried to sue the school district. Veterans in my town were protesting bc the kid’s lies made the school look like they didn’t support veterans. - a mom was hooking up w/ her daughter’s boyfriend. The mom got arrested; idk what happened after that. - many rumors of teachers being pedos or bipolar - book bags were banned from being carried around school last year; I did it anyways and no teachers ever questioned me. - a teacher had a miscarriage and a student said something to her about a miscarriage w/out knowing she did have one. The teacher had to step outside of the classroom for a while bc she was still sad over it. Some students who knew the teacher got mad at him and explained to him what he just did was very wrong. He probably still feels guilty over it til this day - Most of the football team got drug tested which came back positive. Athletes were supposed to get suspended for some time, but there were so many football players getting tested positive that they didn’t do anything about it.

What Julien said about sports being a great reason for kids to stay out of trouble and stay focused on doing the right things, I completely agree but from my perspective as a theater kid. Having rehearsal after school every day kept me from slacking off, and I always knew I had to get all my work done early because rehearsal could potentially run late. Just having something structured frequently throughout the week where you can make friends and bond over common interests was such a lifesaver growing up.
