These movies will always be special to me. Like you, I also watched the OG ALL THE TIME on VHS as a kid. Both Welcome to the Jungle & The Next Level turned out better than I expected & I can’t wait for the next one. Yes Jumanji 4 is in the works! i had zero expectations for this movie as well! like you, the original movie was always on at my house cause my sister was obsessed with it. so i genuinely thought this one would be disappointing, but it made me laugh sp many times and i was fully immersed in the story and the characters. Jack black especially did a phenomenal job playing bethany. as a girl, when men play feminine characters i'm always wary that its gonna end up being kind of an annoying caricature of what girls are like, especially the "popular girls". but i never once felt like jack black was mocking how girls sounded or acted. i was genuinely enjoying his acting in this. never took me out of the immersion of the movie.

I loved Jack Black's performance in this movie. It was the perfect level of exaggerated to be a good parody of the Bethany teen stereotype while still making her feel like a relatable character of substance. Another comedy actor could have easily gone over the top to a mean, "othering" level and made it feel like a mockery of teen girls in general. It didn't feel punch-down-y if that makes sense.

I’m sorry if that offended you. I did mention how PE was miserable for me when I wasn’t coordinated in middle school. It was embarrassing to my peers not even being able to hit the birdie in badminton. Once I got to 10th grade it then became fun. I was able to embrace the things we did without screwing it up. Plus I had most of my friends in the same class and PE teacher was really relaxed so we had fun. Never enjoyed the running, only when the PE teacher had us play relaxed sports. I understand if sports aren’t for you it can be miserable. I hated it until I learned how to be coordinated, then it became fun competing with your friends. I ended up cutting it out because it was a long rant but that’s why I came off so defensive because I had already gave that context prior. I should have kept it in so you’d know my perspective isn’t one sided. it’s all in the full length version.

This movie is what made me a fan of the Jumanji franchise in general, I mean getting sucked into a video game and having to play your way out to survive and make it back into the real world?! How awesome is that! because I'm an avid gamer of course just like Spencer 😄🎮🌴🦏💕🎥🤣
