It wont be expensive, its takes us hours to set up and hours to take down as its in out home, hours we dont have spare in the summer, as right now im doing legit 16 hours a day 6 days a week, we have a spare room in the new restaurant we are going to convert into a small kitchen

Never change you two! Forget all the negative comments, they're just from people who can't remember why they're angry or hostile all the time. Just phase it out :)

mumslaining - when the female parent tries to explain an idea or action but gets terms slightly confudled in the process, and taking longer than other explanations to get the point across. - an explanation that is as clear as day to the mother but is as clear as mud to everyone else, most often needing further clarification by another family member. missed you folks. 😂 good food, great humour, random song references from decades ago, mumsplainations. 👍🏼😍

Just made these springs rolls they where truly awesome, many many thanks to you and your mother,those little tips flour and water slurry,doubling up with diagonal sheet and flavoring the beansprouts all made a huge difference this is one recipe that is going into the vault! Again thank you both.

Love Chinese takeaway and tried over the years to replicate, but your recipes are bang on and authentic, remember the MSG!! (optional). Also your shop is good value, not that much than the oriental supermarket. Good luck guys.

I made this recipe a few nights ago and HOLY HELL, best spring rolls ever. I also made the Chinese roast pork filling with the recipe on your channel and it is incredible. These spring rolls were so good, that my partner, who normally doesn't like spring rolls at all, demolished his in seconds. Seriously recommend!

😂😂😂😂 haha we are trying ti get videos done when we can, at the moment 14 hours a day monday to thrusday and 16 hours a day friday and saturday, then sunday is stock run day, 4 hour round trip not including the actual walking round and shopping, summer is the worst tine for us 😂😂😂😂

I've watched quite a few of your videos over the last week, and to be honest.... I love them. I don't have smellyvision, but I just know in my nose heart that this is the food we know and love from local the takeaways (I've only experienced Manchester, Sunderland and London style). Love your Mam's attitude (and another video your City loving Dad). A short time Sub now. Being a typical Northerner, I can't afford to buy from your (or any) shop until payday, but you guys will be my go to. Keep up the good work.

I know you guys have done sweet and sour chicken balls but can you do sweet and sour chicken cantonese style please? Ive seen it called hong kong style in other places. I can never get the batter on the chicken to not go all soggy while mixed in with the sauce. It ends up a mess.

If you don't have time to make the chinese roast pork or you don't have a chinatown near you, Tesco sell something called "Maple BBQ pork steaks" which is basically pork chops in a BBQ sauce. Slice em up and it works pretty well! They have an offer on a the moment 15 pork steaks for £10.

Its a strange thing about the history of the Spring Roll as you mentioned here. I don't remember them ever having Spam in them. Way back in time during my student days .( late 70's) Spring roll, chips and curry sauce was pretty much all that the student grant would cover for a hot tasty daily lunch during those freezing winter months and a pretty unhealthy diet it was too. Oh for those wonderful days of actually having a 32" waist and being able to eat anything without effecting such an Adonis type of figure :-D Now days a single Smartie would add an inch or 3. :-(((( Even though that large spring roll had spent an age standing upright in the hot display cabinet at the local Chinese takeaway that was located temptingly near to my college, it would still contain enough oil to soak into and destroy the paper bag it was served in. When bitten into the resulting greasy chin was a sure sign of the sheer pleasure it was giving the taste buds. But those magical Rolls contained Prawns, little cubes of Char Sui pork and chicken along with thinly sliced carrot and white cabbage, bean shoots (obviously) and enough M.S.G to turn Usain Bolt into a cardiac patient. I tried to copy these in recent times, (Minus the M.S.G) with some success I'm glad to say.. Pre-frying everything in a Wok adding appropriate spices and using Filo pastry for the outer covering. Now I'm sure that takeaway used Filo pastry too, because the result I got was identical. In recent times I have found it impossible to find "old school" Chinese takeaway Spring Rolls, Curry sauce or even Sweet and sour sauce. Ask for "a spring roll" and you get "two" tiny things as dry as wood, lacking much flavour that have obviously been factory produced somewhere else along with the curry sauce, the same fact applies to sweet and sour sauce because they are all exactly the same bland boring products wherever I buy them these days. Homogenized industrial Chinese cooking, (McDonald's Syndrome) what a pity, but I guess it makes economic sense, increasing profit and reducing work load etc. But where did the customer's right of choice go and/or the skills to produce a unique Spring Roll, Curry sauce etc, etc? MSG a grease stained shirt and resulting palpitations, now those were the days. Miss them dearly. :-)

I could live off jumbo pancake rolls like those! I made some medium size one from scratch including the wrapping for a friend about 20 years ago and he was totally blown away by them :) I hope to taste Choo's rolls someday when it is safe to go out again. This is one of my fave videos. I have watched it many times :) Live long and prosper and Party on dudes!

Yes! we must see you eat your own food. It is a must. If you don't eat your own food on camera, how will we ever know its actually as good as you say? Also, I'm always most sold on your vids when I see you and mums reactional reviews at the end of each taste test.

I was on last night, did the spring roll, your tips great, u said something about the bean sprouts smelling like fish, I did my cabbage version , and it also smells like fish, so I believe, it's the spring roll pastry, honestly, iam convinced, try it without the bean sprouts, and I bet it'll still smell off fish😅

All the takeaway/restaurants here call them spring rolls, but they're always the small ones, I used to have one at least every day when I lived in the Netherlands where they're called Loempia...but those look like the best I've ever seen. I love trying out you guys recipes but I think I'll leave this one to the experts. Smashing video as ever, don't know how this one got by me. Thanks again. 🤗

I'm originally from UK I moved to the USA. I missed pancake rolls. They only did spring rolls in USA. When I went back home to UK to visit after 10 years, all the Chinese take outs no longer did pancake rolls anymore. Just US style Spring rolls. I must give this a try. Thanks guys!

Found the channel a few weeks back So far I've made the basic curry paste, and accompanying curries, roast pork and the BBQ sauce and the salt and pepper crispy chicken. Only cook book I've bothered buying in yeeeeeears. Used the internet for recipes or some of dad's 20-30 year old Indian cookbooks, but this is just next level. Entire family blown away with the food I've been giving them. We have ways loved Asian foods and the only dad cooks is curry, grew up on fish and qlsodahl and chickpea curries etc. Cannot wait for the "best" book next, any timeframe for release? Jumbo pancake rolls is on myist for this week or next week. Can't wait 😍
