I came across this video by pure chance; I have absolutely no knowledge of Japanese swords and their restoration, but from what I've seen: fantastic! I especially liked the tsuka with a (also) fantastic result. A sword I would love to own!

Nice builds dude! On flat surfaces normal woodglue is really strong you should give it a try

Thanks! I hear woodglue hardens stronger than the surrounding wood. The main reason I use epoxy is because it's faster, I can begin hard work on it under an hour.

If I’m not mistaken, a handachi is somewhat a hybrid design between the tachi (the predecessor of the katana) and the katana we now know today.

In my understanding, a Handachi means Half-Tachi, which a has a semigane and kojirigane, but no ashi and the sharp side facing up, they were used in Nan-Bokucho period which it was preferred over the Tachi

Nice try! Tsukamaki is performed alternate as it should, i missed samegawa and hishigami though. Also missed at least a kojiri, fukurin and semegane, rather standard for handachi type saya. As far as your skills are concerned, great craftsmanship!
