The new noco GBX line outputs 14-15 volts instead of 12. It makes a huge difference. I haven’t had a car it would not jump start yet.

Just a note on the gbx series, it turns off after 60 sec. So if you have a car not charging you can't drive it into the shop. The older gb series will stay on. I have the gb70 and it has worked very well.

I worked at a place where the jump pack was just three group 31 batteries wired parallel with a battery tender hooked up. You just had to remember to plug it in every night.

Yep. Had one at a fleet shop. Mounted on a cart so you could roll it out and jump any Diesel that came in.

Hi Guys!!! Based on Project Farm's testing of jump starters, I purchased an Audew 2000A, Peak 20,000mAh jump starter. It's been great! Never had a problem with it. It supposedly jumps engines up to 8.5L diesel.

Cool. I picked up an Autowit Supercat2 booster. There is no battery. It sips some power from a weak car battery into capacitors charging in a matter of about 3 min. Then it will release a large pulse of power over several seconds...perfect for starting an engine. It's rated for 10 years (stow in vehicle and forget about it), 100,000 cycles, and 800Amps. Also, it is only for starting and does not supply continuous power like a regular battery jump box.

I'm a DIYer and I have both type and keep both types in my vehicles. The downside of the lithiums is, as stated in video, they only work if car battery is only mildly discharged (dim headlights as opposed to no headlights, or crank/click vs crank and crickets). This means that half the time the lithium will fail to jump start a car. Another downside to lithiums is they only last a year before they just don't hold a charge anymore. If I could only have one type, it would be the conventional type.

I choose Noco because my sole purpose is to have it in case of my battery goes dead. Especially since I have an upgraded sound system. I’m sure the jump boxes are better for every day use in a shop. To me, I choose a Noco because for the intended use. Which hopefully is that rare occasion when my battery is dead.

some of the new jumpstarters are so idiotproofed they won't let you start a completely dead battery it won't come on if it does not detect some voltage hooked up correctly, so the better ones have a button to force it to work but not all have that.

What about a portable power station and a ~30a charger (the charger running of AC courtesy of the portable power station) to let the flat battery charge up for 15/30/45 minutes? (Assuming the flat car battery still holds charge.) Less strain on the alternator when it starts I guess.

We had the heavy conventional ( heavy ) jumper pack, air compressor, power source units branded as Stanley in the past and they lasted a year or two at best , I bought a $50.00 no name pocket sized jumper pack off amazon, it doesn't care if a battery is stone dead or not, it will start most light duty vehicles 99%of the time and it doesn't have to live on a charger when not in use, we bought a noco gbx 2500a because the Goodall that we tried was dead and useless from the get go? Like many others have noted, the noco's won't do anything if the battery is junk ? The $50.00 one doesn't care? The cheaper one is also a lithium battery as well? The noco if charge it and leave it uncharged but unused for a week, it will be dead when you need it?? Very disappointed in both the noco and the Goodall automotive jumper units.

A lesson learned by me. I didnt know that until i lived above the frost line. Between Orlando and Stuart and Port St. Lucy. Dont mess with the Alternator. Mike. What happened to cables from the tow truck?
