I've had my Gb70 for 3 1/2 years now. Used nearly every day for the job and sometimes around 3>4 times a day. I've only had 1 issue with not starting and that was an old amazon v8 diesel because I'd let the noco drop charge. None of this type of boost starter are actually designed to be used as a battery replacement so although some packs will start the car without the battery being connected it isn't a great way to run a shoot out test Jimmy. How many starts will the others manage before giving up? What size engine will they crank over and what's the staying power if it won't fire up? I'm sure that you know the noco is decent kit beyond this little test😂. I can only comment on my experience with the Gb70 but our manager has the 150 and he rates that like crazy!

Indeed... Only time will tell on whether the cheaper units last. Never done what Jimmy has and used instead of a battery, but used it [Noco] to drive a car a short distance with a flat battery/dead alternator without issue.

@@davyarthurs I had a NATO pack for the serious jobs and kept the noco for hight restricted carparks. The NATO packs are just far to heavy to be lumping around lol.

Amazing test. I have several NOCOs and never had any problems with them including starting big tractor engines but they don't like being used without a battery, maybe its built in protection, but even a flat battery will be ok, pop it on and away it goes. That Auxito looks interesting but not very user friendly judging by your button proding.

By the way Jimmy. The solenoid repair kits are a tenner on ebay. Fitted one to my FR2 and it's worked a treat, doddle to do and it's lasted 18 months with no issues at all.

What solenoid is that repair for? Oh sorry the starter motor of course

@@ORileysAutos Erm... Yeah🤣. I actually carried a spare kit in my van but never came across another before I finished in the job. Take care jimmy👍🏻

Bought this last week and was mainly incase of emergencies while out in the van, didnt think to do what you did by disconnecting the battery to test it but thats 100% another good vid!

I have a Noco gb50, I have just connected it to the terminals, switched on, you can see the indicated power transfer, give it a couple of minutes and the battery then has enough to start. It didn't start an Audi A5 though, probably corroded contact. It was flat, and couldn't open the boot
