Clear and educational video, but one thing where made clear, is that if you have a new Jumper with built-in module then you should check the box internal module in radio settings. Keep up the good work

For all those asking what other non Frsky radios are also supported.. The full list of what's supported is in the drop down radio list I use in the video or listed here : www.open-tx.org/radios

2nd comment - After following your video, thank you, the T16 transmitter automatically defaulted to mode 1. Aggregating, but easily fixed. Bottom of the first screen in radio settings (for those readers looking). Just thought I would mention it because for some reason it took forever to figure it out, lol...👍🏻🍻👊🏻

Great tutorial Painless but i do have a question regarding the flashing of the internal module. My radio came without the boot loader installed in the internal module. I ordered the adapter to install it but was wondering if i install the new opentx firmware will the radio still work but will continue to warn me of the firmware needing update?

My T16 is the same. I'm sure your assumption is correct. You need to install the module bootloader to upgrade the module firmware in order to get rid of those messages. You can upgrade the module firmware without installing the bootloader but with the bootloader installed, any further module updates will happen along with the radio upgrades so it just makes sense. My USB to serial adapter arrives tomorrow!
@lifeinrc90515 жыл бұрын
@@Geoffh777 Thanks for the reply Geoff, mine still in transit from BangGood so hopefully it gets here quick. I just wanted to make sure if I did update to OpenTX that I was not at risk of the Spektrum DSM Bug since the module doesn't get flashed by the OpenTX Update. The Latest OpenTX fixes the bug but was worried with the module firmware out of date the bug would still be there.
@Geoffh7775 жыл бұрын
@@lifeinrc9051 I'm sure you're right. My USB to serial adapter arrived and I flashed the RF module and my alarm messages have all gone now. The radio firmware was already up to date. The messages were unrelated to the Spektrum bug and didn't affect the operation in any way but I'm happy they've gone. The flashing process was easy once I got the right driver for the adapter.The first driver I tried appeared to be correct but wasn't. Go to www.ftdichip.com/Drivers/VCP.htm and if you're on Windows, the driver is called 2.12.28.

I noticed on my Jumper T16 pro hall it has a small logo on the screen that says Jumper tx with the green X. Does that mean its running open tx? It also says welcome to jumper tx on the opening screen. Just curious if this one is the open tx version.

superb very helpful informative, convinced me me to get the T16 now. Really don't want the FrSky Access, not replacing some 30 plus receivers because FrSky have gone down the profit making route and dumping many of there existing customer base. Question where are UK T16 buyers getting there T16s from ???????

I put in the internal module and when I upgraded to Open TX I had to re calibrate the pots etc but something went wrong and the left gimbal now moves both right and left and the right gimbal does nothing. I'm clueless as to what caused this... So I tried flashing the bootloader and it looks like that is going to be a problem too because it doesn't have a bootloader so I watched a video by Josh that explains how to create a boot loader using a FT232RL FTDI Mini USB to TTL Serial Converter Adapter Module.. Grrr.. Hope that fixes it but I wonder,, Update Found the gimbal problem seems when I was putting the internal module I unplugged some wires.. plugged them in and all is well.

I have jumper t16 pro - hall gimbals and builtin multiprotocol module. i followed the steps exactly as is (loaded version 2.3.5 using companion 234) . it booted okay the first time but the scroll wheel was malfunctioning. then i saw on the website that companion 235 is out wirh an urgent fix for horus/t16 - i updated and re flushed. this bricked the radio completely. luckily i was able to revert to the old jumpertx firmware and the backed up SD content. the wheel continues to malfunction - really strange
@mkolesnik4 жыл бұрын
SOLVED: JTX needs to be powered off during the flush. not sure if this is still the case once OTX is already on it. the wheel issue fixed by reseating the ribbon cables.
