Greetings from Florida. I love your collection and I have deep respect for your level of zone bending. I push my zone here,10a (growing 10b stuff ha ha) but your success is likely even more satisfying. You might try soaking the root zone of that S. palmetto with Superthrive. That stuff is gimmicky but anecdotes from reliable growers seem to bear out some efficacy for shock and stress. I'll keep following your work!

I'm jealous of you in Florida! And you must be reading my mind. I'm using Superthrive. It's expensive but worth a try. Next spring I'm just going to fly to Georgia or Florida and buy a regenerated Sabal myself and rent a truck and drive back. I have a friend who has several in Long Island and they are doing great. I think I can make them thrive but I need the right start up here, not a hurricane cut. Just curious how much are the sabal palmettos by you in Florida?

Great tour!! Sorry your Sabal didnt make it. I'm trying a small one here in NJ. Your "unknown " palm looks like a Sabal minor.

I have a couple of very very small sabal palmettos that are doing great. In 60 years they will be fabulous :)

You definitely should try Sabal Louisiana! It is very cold hardy and it will trunk. The palm gives the appearance of a regular Palmetto but not as tall.

It seems like a contradiction with the Washingtonia filifera being a native to the US! Everyone filifera that I ever planted has died. Washingtonia robusta as its name said it more robust in hardiness.

Well I will be trying out the filifera in the yard this winter. So far it has done well this summer and grown
