I have been growing a garden but have avoided strawberries because I can’t allot enough space to grow what I need, so I just buy them from a local farm. However, every year I seem to eek out a little bit more space…they are my favorite fruit after all. ♥️👍🤓

I have both type and just have runners. I got a few in May. But its been 105+ for a month, so maybe its the heat? The few flowers I get fall off. I have ever sweet and I forgot the other name.

Yes rosalind, strawberries are a cool climate crop.. In times of heat stress, they will simply not produce.

I dont know why my seascape strawberries dried up, is it too much sun or not watering enough cuz I water almost everyday 😔👩🌾 thanks Jeff I take any tips 😊 I have them for almost 2 years now, I’m in zone 9. Take care and be safe
@TheRipeTomatoFarms Жыл бұрын
Hi emy, watering every day can have the opposite effect of actually giving the plants enough moisture. It washes the soil and eventually the soil loses its ability to hold onto moisture. You growing in ground or in containers?

I am growing strawberry plants in the UK. June bearing strawberry plants seemed to have finished producing fruit, although there are some flowers. However, two varieties of ever-bearing strawberry plants, which are Rosana F1 and Mt Everest (climbing strawberry) keep producing fruit, but they are very seedy and the surface of the fruit starts cracking. I gave water regularly. How can I stop strawberry fruit become seedy or cracking? I also don't know what kind of fertiliser I should give to ever-bearing strawberry plants. I would appreciate if you give me an advice.

Nice video, thank you!!! I’m growing Ever-bearing and I got them from Lowe’s back in March. Does it take up to a year before we will see progress?
@TheRipeTomatoFarms Жыл бұрын
Yes, you are correct. Often, strawberries won't produce in the first year at all. Many times, they set their fruiting buds in the fall...so if they haven't had a fall/winter yet, there's no flower buds even formed yet.
@357_gardening Жыл бұрын
@@TheRipeTomatoFarms Awesome, thank you so much!! We will wait patiently and continue to take care of them. We’re getting lots of runners. My Quinault & Seascape varieties didn’t like this summer heat in Arizona 😅 but we kept the roots. Happy Growing season Ripe Tomato Farms!!

Stupid question, but when it's time to winterize your strawberries, can you cover their cages as well? The ones that help them stay out of the soil, or do you recommend taking them off ?

I’m dorming at college and this summer I grew two potted strawberry plants from cuttings a friend gifted me from her ever bearing plant. I’ve bought red and white grow lights for them but I’m worried about production over winter. Will they still produce strawberries over winter? Should I cut all new little berries off to maximize leaf production before spring?
@LiliansGardens2 ай бұрын
No, don't cut off the tiny fruits, let them ripen and harvest them. The leaves will go away for the winter and resprout in spring for the next year's fruiting. They are runners not cuttings.

I need advice! This is the first year I’ve had this issue but my plants are producing runners over berries! No matter how much/how many runners I take off I am still fighting with the runners. In other words the plants are really only producing a few very small berries and plenty of runners. What am I doing wrong? Last year I had tons of large berries and only a few runners (which I used in a container for my granddaughter). I need advice!
