Very dry out west but the pigs are doing well due to stock being hand fed as the pigs come into the grain at night.
Get onto the below sites guys as Olight and I are now working together.

We use to sit on carcass piles every Friday night so we can box the pigs Saturday morning, the ex Mrs on one and me on another, the suckers come up first, followed by the sows and then later, up comes the big boar. The secret is learning to hold back until the boar shows himself. Never dog on a carcass or grain pile as the pigs will never come back there. After midnight you can drive to the other carcass or grain piles, the boars are never far away,having a sleep in the timberline.

Hi, from Heidelberg in South Africa, you certainly do have a way above average shooting skill with rifle and shotgun - congrats - I have watched most of your uploads and have thoroughly enjoyed them. Question for you is how much do you salvage the meat from the hunt? I have produced the most wonderful grills in a Weber Charcoal Grill using both bush pig and warthog as well as boerewors/sausage by adding 25% commercial pig fat to keep it moist . I have a deal with a local butcher to process the carcases and I keep the hind legs/rump as well as some of the fillet/loin chops (The wife does a mean Chinese dish using pork fillet). For the vegetable and grain farmers that invite us out I often use a live piglet and give its tail a twist to bring them out of thick cover - "curiosity killed the hog" as they say. I like you favour a 30-06, I use a 180 grain soft nose as I don't like walking after pigs in thick riverine bush which has its exciting moments if you do. Cheers and good hunting. Best Regards Mike

How do you like the 130gr hollow points compared to the soft nose pills stu?
@HuntingwithStu
@HuntingwithStu 4 жыл бұрын
Great on pigs at night but they lack the extra bit of whatever it is that comes with the 150gners mate. My next clip shows me pump 4 yes 4 130grn pills into a boar running past at approx 10m so they are not lightning like I was expecting. Obviously headshots work a treat. Steve tried 130grn as well but has since moved back to 150gn. I still have a hundred projectiles to shoot off so we will see how they go on the next hunt. However, in short, I'm not sold on their performance mate.

Yeah cheers mate, ive noticed similar results with 243 hollow points I prefer the soft nose pills even at similar weights i just find they kill quicker and dont seem to blow up as much on bigger bodied pigs. The old 180 gr ppu in 303 pulls them up no matter what angle you hit them with much like the 30-06 id say 👍 great videos mate

At the beginning of the video when you're hunting at night you say that's a grain pit over there. Is that like a Farmer's Grain pit or is that a grain pit that is put there to draw in pigs so you can kill them what kind of light are you using? And what distances are you shooting those Hogs? It appears that after you shoot the first one the other ones just stand there is it because they're Blinded by the Light are they just stupid cuz as a rule Hogs aren't that stupid
@HuntingwithStu
@HuntingwithStu 3 жыл бұрын
Hi mate yes a grain pit is a pit that the farmer digs up in drought times to feed stock. Pigs come into these pits as there is always a lot of grain left in the pit after the farmer opens it up and gets out most of the grain. The lights are from Olight Australia google em. At night pigs aren't expecting danger and often don't worry about a light on them especially if I am on foot with no vehicle noise. Some shots are onlty metres or so.but others are out to 200m.

@@HuntingwithStu you know there's a lot of punk kids today I think the 3006 is old-fashioned and ineffective. If it doesn't start in Creed and end in Moore then they think it's garbage much like the 270 Winchester do they have 270 Winchester's in Australia that's a fine fine cartridge hard to imagine that changing the bullet size from 30 caliber to 277 made such a huge difference but it does. Thanks for making your videos too I love them I enjoy them no matter when I watch him how old they are just turn them on and I see death and killing I like death and killing of hogs. Honest question but what do the contract hunters do with all the feral pigs killed? Is there plants you take them to field dress and butcher?
@HuntingwithStu
@HuntingwithStu 4 жыл бұрын
Yes mate the pro roo shooters are all set up to take in wild pigs to 'chillers' which are large freezers across Australia. From there they get exported to places like Germany. It is well regulated and hunters like me can't just shoot a pig and take it in. Where we hunt the pigs actually carry diseases harmful to humans.

@@HuntingwithStu I was just reading some of the comments here and this guy may be onto something. Patreon might be an idea worth looking into Stu. There are people on there soliciting cash for their blind, 3-legged, 16 year old French poodle with erectile disfunction and folks are sending them money. With the popularity of your channel combined with the worldwide appeal hunting generates it's possible you could get some nice funding to further your expeditions. Another idea that occurs to me is that you could offer guided hunting trips. Though wild pigs don't offer the glamour of more exotic game they certainly have a large following of interested persons. You would probably have to be a full service outfitter and provide lodging, rifles/ammo, quads, food, etc. but I'd waged people would come and pay to hunt with you. Bill it as "The World's Most Extreme Wild Boar Hunting in Australia's Rugged Outback" (or some such promotional language) and see what happens. KZbin would provide the majority of your advertising for free, plus you already have a well established reputation. Just an idea.
