I've always thought that this music video in particular perfectly captures Jungkook's essence - he's both sexy but more so a hopeless and devoted romantic, and he's also ridiculously unserious and goofy.

This is Jungkook's solo debut song. This song scored an all-kill Billboard #1 (#1 Billboard Hot 100, #1 Global 200, #1 Global excluding US). 71 year old BTS Army here. Dudes, the hurricane blew him off of the light pole and next scene is at the funeral. This song is UK Garage style and it broke records!!! This was his first Official solo release leading up to his album. Check out the explicit version 👀 Official Performance Video. All of JK's solo releases are American productions and should not be considered Kpop for that reason. Even his dancers are famous American dancer/choreographers. This song was written and produced by Grammy Award winning Producer of the Year Andrew Watt and a team of notable American/Canadian songwriters including Cirkut, Jon Bellion and others. It was recorded at Watt's L.A. Studio and the video was filmed at Universal Studios in L.A. Andrew Watt has produced albums for Justin Bieber, Miley Cyrus, Post Malone, the Rolling Stones new album and other notables. The Canadian producer Cirkut also has impressive credits. They were also involved with "Standing Next to You" by JK and his album "Golden". Thanks guys! 💜

I do not mean this as disrespectful or argumentative at all. I’m right behind you in age, 68. JK said himself when he was making these songs that he took it seriously that he is a KPop idol and he wanted to represent them well. The fact that he is a KPop idol does not change just because he sang in English and used different producers and background dancers. Also, he does have Korean background dancers, too. The only reason I want to respond to that is there were some petitioning to not allow him to get KPop awards. I don’t think that is fair. That would be like Americans saying BTS should not be eligible for western awards. I’m so happy Mcountdown and the other Korean shows didn’t shun him for the reasons you listed. We would have missed some really good performances and he would have missed out on some awards and recognition from his home country.

@@Imme_begin Ok, of course you are entitled to your opinion, but I respectfully disagree. I do recall Jungkook stating that he wanted to be giant pop star and "go higher" he said. He did not say Kpop star. He went head on into the biggest pop market of all on order to achieve his dream and that was the American pop market. I see Kpop trying to keep him in the Kpop box and trying to take credit for his American pop music when JK made the choice to sing all of his music in English for a reason. Kpop does not do that. They throw in a few English words here and there. I guarantee you that the amazingly talented American songwriter/producers were not writing Kpop songs. They wrote American Pop songs for him since that was JK's dream. It is a matter of trying to claim credit for something that was clearly not created by them. What is a shame is that American award shows are creating Kpop categories for JK's American Pop. That is wrong. He deserves to compete with the biggest American pop stars. Let's say I wanted to be a giant Kpop star. I go to Korea, hire all Korean Kpop songwriters, producers, choreographers, dancers, directors, etc. I record in all Korean and film in Korea with well known featured Kpop artists. After I release it, I become a huge Kpop star in Korea which was my dream, but Americans claim it as American pop even though the only American involved was me and maybe a couple of dancers. IMO, that is not correct and I stand firm on that. 💜🫰🏻💜

Jungkook only did collas for Seven ft Latto and 3D feat Jack Harlow. 3D with Justin Timberlake and Standing next to you with Usher were both remixes released much later than the og tracks and their own separate thing.

BTS has had western collabs since early days so JK's collabs is not a surprise. JK is baby of the group (he's the youngest). Everybody is babying him. Army babying him, staff babying him. Even the other members call him baby. He's been trying to prove he's an adult now so i guess this is one of the ways😅. I'm a mom of 3. My youngest daughter will be 14 this year but always be my baby. She hated being babying around but i don't care😂😂. That's how i see JK also 🤣🤣.
