I remember this interview. The way Jungle Boy described his dad gave me a different perspective of Luke Perry. Far more down to earth than I thought, given he was Dylan from 90210. And a Dusty Rhodes fan as well.

They never really hid it.... He was called "Jungle" Jack Perry for the first few months in AEW and J.R. used to mention his dad on Dynamite because he and Luke were friends because Luke was such a HUGE wrestling fan.

Chris it’s crazy man I used to work with Jack at a Pollo Loco back in 2015 in Sherman Oaks CA, dude is super cool Watched him perform In an auditorium in 2017 in front of 60 people for 5 bucks a ticket to get in He’s come a long way and I always tell him he’s a FUTURE WORLD CHAMPION IN AEW!

I wasn't a massive 90210 fan BUT I always loved Luke Perry and his acting abilities. He was so talented and had a presence. His son is like that when wrestling. He's not an over the top lunatic, but he has immense talent and ability! You KNOW Papa Luke is looking down PROUD AS A DAD CAN BE! YOU DID GOOD KID! Also Chris, your unique understanding of people, the business, and just how respectful you always are, makes your interviews that much more important to see. Hard to believe this kid grew up in a Hollywood environment. I see glimpses of it once in a great while, but he certainly isn't defined by it. His uncomfortable perception of his Dad comes from the environment that he grew up in. From the way it sounds his Dad was looked down on because he still had "Low Class" attitudes. It's amazing how judgmental the "Woke Elite" are. Im sure he heard all kinds on nonsense and that's what makes Jack think his Dad was an embarrassment.
