I pick up an old vintage yard kart not to long a go and saved it from becoming scrap. Hope you guys enjoy.

Nice job! I just picked up a vintage cart also. Do you know where you bought the rear axle with the mechanical disk brake?

Thanks! The axle came with the frame. If I remember correctly it’s a 1” diameter axle so I just bought a universal brake kit for a 1” axle on gopowersports.com

Thanks man, problem is materials are actually pretty expensive and I don’t have a pipe bender for thick wall stuff. Sometimes the junk is worth saving.

@@trevormillar5469 Heck yeah, I bought some pipe to repair a go kart & spent $22 for about 4 ft. of pipe, Home Depot. Tooo Expensive. Next time I will get pipe at the metal recycling place where I got the go kart for $20...

Why on earth would you lengthen the frame ? It's going to handle like crap now.

It handles great. It was a kids kart so unless you were 4ft tall you couldn’t ride the thing. It now comfortably handles people from 5’8” to about 6ft max. Caster and steering speed are much more important than wheelbase for handling.
