Dude, the adjuster would work a whole lot better if you used the correct spring on the bottom! LOL. And the self-adjuster is never gonna work with that spring rubbing on the star wheel. Anyway....You definitely need more drum brake practice, my friend. It was fun to watch, but then again SO frustrating as I yelled at the screen all the advice I had to give! Haha! Take care, Dan and Dani.

Dan, Dude, Just attach the shoes onto the backing plate and add all the other parts by just moving the shoes around on the nails. @Darkflamingo22 күн бұрын
@@peter-pg5yc Not at all what I'm talking about, Pete. You're talking about the spring end that connects to the parking brake lever inside the brake drum. I'm talking about pushing all the fingers in on the circular brake cable clamp where it snaps into the backing plate. That's where Dan was struggling with it. He destroyed the old cable end taking it out, which is fine, but if he ever wants to remove a good parking brake cable without damaging it to reuse on another rear end, my way will allow that to happen.

When you bench bleed a dual master cylinder those plastic hoses return the fluid to the reservoir when you press the piston in. But if they are submerged in the fluid they also draw the fluid back into the cylinder when you release it. They have to be submerged to work the air out.

You should ask for another hydraulic lift for the other bay of the garage. You can justify asking for a second unit, because of the at least 80 percent screen time that the lift is getting on your channel and put large stickers with the company's name ,all over the lift. Just a little thought that I was thinking, ever since you have been using it

This is why the guys at the shop always hand me the drum brake jobs, haha. With most GM's attach the adjuster, lever and lower spring, primary shoe(smaller) in front, hang it on the pins, then the upper springs last making sure the wheel cylinder pins made it into the shoes. Sounds easy doesn't it, haha. Oh and make sure the adjusters are on the correct side if they are "auto adjust" brakes with the cable and lever from later models.
