I had that same model car. I drove mine 350 thousand miles. Untill the front right tie decided to go south . Like that one. I got a kick watching you guys putting this car back together. Reminded me of my old car I had up here in Long Island Ny. 40 + yrs ago . Good luck! I’ll be watching!!!!!

As well as the 73 being to have a Hatchback instead of a trunk lid. from 70-72 were the best styles, but I was born in 80, so a little bit before me but awesome cars . And I think that also was the 1st year 73 had a bench where as 70-72 having buckets. 70-72 only had trunk lid no hatchback correct ?

Junkyard Digs would probably love to have that 442! They revive a lot of Cutlasses over there and drive them home 100s of miles. Could get a lot of exposure and traction for your channel too. (posted this before but comment never showed up for some reason)

Nice video. Great job so far. Just an FYI, 1973-74 Novas are part of the third generation of Novas (1968-74) however, they share the floor with fourth generation Novas (1975-79) because the floor changed in 1973 due to the hatchback body style being added. 1968-72 floors can be made to work but 1973-79 patch panels are what you want.

My 74 was the same color of Green inside and out. The door panels on mine were made of plastic that degraded in the sunlight, making the plastic brittle and powdery. Mine was also a 3-on-tree with a straight 6 engine(changed from V8 to save on gas). Just looking at yours brings back a lot of old memories of mine.

Bought my '74 two-door with 350 and TH 350 in January of '77 in Goose Bay, Labrador. Green on green (light green)...great fun, and fast in my world. Great memories. Had it for 12 years, then lost it in a crash just outside Newmarket, Ontario (intersection of Davis and Woodbine)

my mom had a 1972 caprice with a 400 in it but it still got tremendous fuel economy at the time. It have a 2 barrell carb on it and it ran like a dream. She got into an accident with it and in the process of bringing it back up onto the road they sprung the frame. She in turned had to trade towards a newer car in 1986. She had a nova hatchback with a poorly built 6 cylinder due to the engine came apart on 22000 miles. But the dealer said it was our fault it failed.(they were the one maintainng it) They sold her a 1986 celebrity with tbi. It also had starter issues and had to replace the flywheel and starter twice. And the head bolts broke at around 30000 miles that they also said was our fault. I installed aftermarkets bolts into it and drove till i gave to my step son and he set the motor up within the year he nevere maintained it. So sad it ran well and got around 30mpg.

I left a comment on your friends page on attempted auto in regard to dark green, unique original 1973 seat covers, for the front and back. If he chooses to get them for his chevrolet nova. I left the comment on his most recent posting, so he should view it easily. They are for a 1974 buick apollo, however they should fit in your friends green nova. It would match the exterior and interior of his car. They are selling on e t s y. The seat covers were apparently put in storage but are now available on e t s y to purchase, if he chooses to do so. I type very fast and left him all the information just now on his latest video, if he chooses to get those seat covers. It is up to him of course. He may just want to keep the seats already in his car or purchase a new one for the front and back seat. Of course they also have remanufactured ones for his particular year of nova. It is just a suggestion. I'll leave this up a little bit but will take it down later. It may be all bought out if everyone starts looking on there. The 1974 mint green buick apollo our family had up until 2009, had those seat covers for the front and back. The front headrests were just a dark green fake leather. So it just didn't cover the headrests. They are only for the front and back seat.

I was rewatching Nova episode 2 and around time stamp 37.24 I caught a glimpse of a 74-5 Oldsmobile Cutlass! If you could next time you are there verify and possibly send pictures if worth pursuing. Thanks

My first car was a '73 with orange paint with black int. with the old 250 six automatic. When I got the car from a family friend I noticed a bunch of snaps around the hatch and inner body which turned out to be for a snap-in tent. Don't know if this was an option but was definately cool.
