With Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom just about a month away, I decide to review all 4 Jurassic Park films leading up to Fallen Kingdom. Feel free to watch along and join the discussion in the comment section.
This is part 3 in the series, and we're talking about Jurassic Park 3! Alan Grant gets pulled back to the world of dinosaurs to rescue a lost child.
This is a spoiler review for Jurassic Park III.
Unlike most of my reviews, there aren't any video clips because the film was released by Universal, and Universal is pretty bad about making copyright claims against videos with clips from their movies.

PLOT
After being persuaded by a wealthy businessman to conduct an aerial tour of Isla Sorna, InGen's second site for a failed Jurassic Park experiment, Dr. Alan Grant (Sam Neill) discovers the true reason for his invitation. JP3 is very fast paced and thrilling!!! My mom and I throughly enjoyed this movie. The Spinosaurus was terrifying and the bird cage scene is awesome!!! It had some comedic moments that were not necessary like the Barney scene and the final raptor scene. Overall the movie wasn't perfect but it was pure Dinosaur fun!!!

Jp3 was (i think) my first jurassic movie so alot of nostalgia. When i was younger i dint care about plots i just wanted to see the dinosaurs and thats why this was my favorite when i was younger, now that im older and understand everything i still cant say that the movie is bad.

I like the fast pace of this one. It kinda knows that it is not so great, so it's just having a bit of fun for an hour-and-a-half. But the ending takes it down a lot of notches. I agree with everything you said about the phone call, that made no sense. Especially since the only thing Grant managed to say to Sattler was "the river!". From that she concluded they must be on Site B, she persuaded her husband to call in a favor and the entire navy shows up in less than 24 hours. And they rescued Billy before the others. So they either somehow knew he was half dead in the bird cage, or he somehow managed to get to the beach before the others. None of it makes sense, which really hurts the movie. They were clearly in a rush to wrap things up and really didn't think it through.

Already seen Fallen Kingdom. It's gonna be very devicive I think. I loved it so much. The 1st half is total destruction of the island and J.A. Batona shows his talent and creativity. The second half is even better with so much horror that we havent really seen in a Jurrasic movie before. It has a great tone, some great relationships and creativity. It plays with your exoectations so well I loved it. Some characters feel stupid aspecialy the main villian but it doesn't change the fact that for me it's the best Jurassic movie accept for the original. I'd give it a 8.9/10.

saw jurrasic world 2 in cinemas on saturday as it came out here in spain on the 8th, really enjoyed it considering i have only seen the original, maybe that's why because i've heard it's quite repetitive of other jurrasic movies, a lot of good dino action and 1 emotional moment that i really liked, i would recommend to just not take it too seriously though, keep up the great work sean!

Fuck this film 's reception. It is quite possibly the most underrated film of all time! I love the everliving shit out of this movie! It gets an A for me. It has it's flaws but I still love it and will always treasure it.

I actually think that this movie is better than The Lost World. You are right in almost everything you said, but i don't know, the movie is straitghtforward, it goes to the point, and Alan Grant is far more interesting in this film than Ian Malcom in the previous movie. You can see he is the same person, wereas Malcom was completly out of character. Jurassic Park doesn't need to be two and a half hours long, and the premise is not that challenging: dinosaurs are brought back and they try to eat some people.The Lost World was too ambitious, this was straitgh to the point, and the raptor ideas explored here built up to Jurassic World's "training raptors thing" very well. So, for me, simple and quicker can be better, and that's the case with this third installment.

I love this movie !!!! I don't know why, but I remember watching this movie more times than the first 2 as a child... Now that I've seen all 5 of the Jurassic Park movies I think that JP3 is my least favorite though. I love this franchise and I can't wait for you to watch Fallen Kingdom and review it. It seems to me like the critics are nitpicking every little thing about this movie sure there’s a few cheesy things like the plane and the raptor but for the most part, this is a clean cut no politics entertaining Jurassic Park movie with lots of good action. Maybe give it a better ending take out the dream sequence. You have a perfect movie. It’s a solid eight out of 10.

Seen Fallen Kingdom a week ago in Denmark. First scene: AMAZING! (Why did they not give us more of that.. Here, you really see the horror conventions of Bayona) The rest is gonna be devicive. Jurassic Park III is a bad movie, but it's not terrible. My biggets problem with it is that the dinosaurs don't look real, the animatronics all move like robots and the eyes don't look alive, also the Raptors are too smart, they feel like monsters not animals.

Just rewatched JP3, to lead up to the 6th movie. I haven't seen JP3 since it came out, so it was very new to me. In comparison to Lost World, it's not bad to be honest. Lost World is just a movie full of plot holes just to increase the body count. Lost World does have a couple decent action sequences and has Jeff Goldblum but other than that isn't good. JP3 is very concise and has a tight easy to follow story. I liked more than I thought it would and though it pales in comparison to the original - is a solid film.

Pretty decent film Positives Return of Grant I love the Spinosaurus in this movie, pretty great that they focused on it. Some jokes worked The part with the Pteranodon bird cage Billy and Eric The fight with T- Rex and Spinosaurus The final fight with the Spino The music Bad Ellie and Grant breaking up The Jurrasic Park military theme wasn't really good. The T- Rex dying was a bit of a let down The close ups of the dinos The raptors were good, but at times they were way too smart like the Troodon The effects at times The poop scene The dream scene How did the men in the opening die in the opening? Some of the characters The herbivores weren't focused too much. How did the Spino destroy a fence yet can't destroy a door with a few locks. There aren't too much moments were they slowed down just chase scene, after chase scene, after chase scene. The part where they fix the camera with a flashlight battery. 6/ 10 for me

Short answer to both is YES but I don’t have a timeline. I’d like to review all the Batman movies leading up to his next release but that’s obviously a long time away. So Batman 89 could be A while but definitely is In the works. Superman actors is something which I can probably do fairly soon. Fallen kingdom was a fun adventure of explosions and horror with the first half trying to save the dinosaurs and not blow up and the second a suspense horror film in Lockwood mansion with the hybrid AND the opening scene was amazing the best of all the opening scenes! The second half was better than the first in my opinion because the first half is very quick moving and sometimes you can’t tell what’s going on. The second half however is pretty slow and suspenseful but I like that type of genre and the horror seemed real with the new hybrid, the Indoraptor. Dat smile tho! I’d give this movie an 8/10. Heres my ranking 5: The lost world 4: Jurassic Park 3 3: Jurassic world 2: Fallen kingdom 1: Jurassic Park!

As a kid I liked this movie but I must've had bad taste because now I really don't like it. The movie has a such an interesting concept of a teenager being stranded on an island and now there is a new lead dinosaur, the Spinosaurus. Sadly the movie waste all the possibilities for this movie to be great. The CGI in this film could've been better and the movements of the Spinosaurus aren't to great because you can tell its a robot. I just wish the execution would've been better.

Honestly, I loved this movie AS A KID. But watching it recently it definitely has aged. Probably because of the lighting issue that you mentioned. But the phone thing I liked and kid in it, I knew him from some Disney movies so ofcourse I liked it. That being said, it does look jumbled looking at it with “older eyes”. And o have watched Fallen Kingdom and I wasn’t a big fan. I’d watch the 3rd movie over it. I feel like it could have gone straight to dvd. The story wasn’t that interesting. Which really disappointed me cause I freaking love Chris Pratt.

It's my second favorite movie in the franchise tbh, but mainly because it was mercifully short. The other movies though, the characters do stupid things that got people killed when they should know better. The second film was guilty of this character problem heavily, the characters doing things that gets people killed. The fourth film had contrived things for the plot, and it didn't portray dinosaurs as animals properly.

The colors on most of these animals change along with the raptors now having feathers. Are they evolving on the island because of a dna screw up and becoming smarter than an actual human? No probably not but it’s a fun theory to make. The actual reason why the dinosaurs are different in the third film is because scientists and paleontologists at the time discovered fascinating new things about them. Including raptors being more bird like than reptilian. But I still think it’s creepy thinking about the third ones jungly swamp like setting in the fog with these mutated things. But my theory is most likely incorrect. Fans hated the” Mohawk”raptors so much that in Jurassic world, the raptors and other dinosaurs are back to their original coloring. Expect for blue. She’s....she’s special 😂🤔

That was an active choice. There was new research and discoveries on dinosaurs and they incorporated it into their designs in this movie

Having seen Fallen Kingdom last night I'm curious to see how people react to it. Jurassic Park 3 is easily the worst of the franchise but not the dumbest. Fallen Kingdom is fun but so mindnumbingly stupid. The characters are cartoons and the Indoraptor is laughable.

jurassic park 3 is a guilty pleasure of mine. i kind of like it considerably more than the lost world (mostly because it’s a lot shorter). i definitely think it’s one of the more rewatchable dumb jurassic park movies (basically all of them but the first)
