If you want to judge a mans character, give him some authority... he thought he was above everyone and kneeled on that poor guys neck. He thought he was a tough guy in charge. Now he will go to prison and hopefully pay for what he did. I can only hope the guards turn their backs when Chauvin is in GP, or general population where everyone gets to go out in the yard... he’ll find out quickly what hell is.

All this man had to do was lift his knee off of the Floyds neck but his pride got in the way and a man lost his life. Even if Floyd actually overdosed (Which I don't think was the case) it looks bad when you have an officers knee digging into Floyds neck for 9.5 minutes, much of which the man wasn't even moving or resisting. Justice was absolutely served today

@@egeniojaramillo9048 false. You don’t overdose on 11 nanograms of Fentanyl which is what he had. ALSO his ratio of Fentanyl to norfentanyl was was lower than the ratio of people who HAVE OD’d off of fentanyl, and even lower than those who have been arrested under DUI and lived. He did not OD, period. His bloodwork post mortem, etc. does not support that at ALL. Not that this is necessarily relevant to this adult case, but I wonder if there is a way to exploit that in a controlled environment like when raising children give them temporary absolute authority over something (preferably something with potential negative consequences for others like no desert or less allowance...nothing too crazy) and observe what they do with it. Might give some valuable insight into their character and level of empathy and can lead to a meaningful dialogue with them after. I don't know. I just got to thinking when I read your comment 🤔

@@samuelmerkel2888 Sure. The man was handcuffed and there was no way he could get up... making it unnecessary to have a knee to the neck. This was confirmed by 3 of my family members who are police officers. Chauvin’s actions are prideful even at the time the guilty verdicts were given. Jesus said, “Blessed are the merciful for they shall obtain mercy.” If Chauvin demonstrated mercy by placing Floyd on his side, so he can breathe, he would be alive today.... and Chauvin would still be an Officer. I was born in 1975 so this reminds me of the Rodney King case, well, Rodney King wasn't murdered by the police, badly hurt but not killed, which makes this case even worse. Good there is film evidence. George Floyd would be pleased that justice was made thanks to the girl that recorded everything.

How different were the eyes of DC from the day he sat on GF, his eyes so steely, staring at the crowd. His eyes saying "I'm the power here. You can't stop me. My brothers/sisters in blue will back me up. I am power." Today, as he was held responsible for the death of GF, none of his brothers/sisters in blue speaking in his defense, his eyes were disbelieving, afraid, powerless, seemingly looking for someone somewhere to help him. Reminds me of what GF eyes may have conveyed if he had had enough life in him to have control of his eyes. GF surely had the same thoughts of powerlessness on the hard asphalt as DC expressed in the courtroom.

It's puzzling that they're flailing, in this strange muffled way, against justice How could anyone watch those videos and *not* see that Chauvin was torturing and killing a human being for no reason except that he could, and assumed he'd get away with it? The jury demonstrated that you don't have to be Black, white or mixed-race to see it clearly; that you don't have to be male or female, young or old, to understand and agree that what Chauvin did was wrong. He's guilty and has been found guilty. That's how it's supposed to work.

Many people are saying that if GF just obeyed the police then he wouldn't be dead.... Well, True. Lets look at it from another angle. If only Chauvin listened to the people that told him to get his knee of him and he actually did. And GF still died even after he got his knee off. It would have been easy to prove that it wasn't him (Chauvin) that caused GF's death. However, he didn't listen. Even if he didn't want to hear the people. He could have tuned a ear to the paramedic.................... So here we are.

I don't care what the verdict is one way or another, but this was absolutely a mistrial. Not immediately sequestering the jury? Not moving it out of Minneapolis? Having political figures consistently say that they hope for a guilty verdict? Allowing for over a week of non-probative testimony? It was a mess of a trial, and if the appellate court is serious about it in any way, I'd say it has a good shot at being overturned due to the sheer lack of legitimate due process. The jury was unanimous after less than a full calendar day of deliberation. In a case with that much evidence it doesn't happen unless they walked away with a verdict in mind.
@Basch152
@Basch152 3 жыл бұрын
why would they need more deliberation? prosecution with little question proved he was guilt on the counts brought before him
@tameniai
@tameniai 3 жыл бұрын
Most juries aren't sequestered. Change of venue isn't actually granted all that often. I was honestly surprised the jury didn't come back after a few hours. The first thing any jury does when released to consider is take a vote as the entire point of the trial is for the jury to decide for themselves a verdict and then come to a conclusion together to ensure that their verdicts considered all the evidence fairly. A 'full day' of deliberation is actually considered to be eight hours, so they did actually take the full day.
@samuelmerkel2888
@samuelmerkel2888 3 жыл бұрын
@@tameniai Wouldn;t you agree that it's somewhat pointless to say that most juries aren't sequestered, and that venue change is rare, when this is the biggest, most widely publicized case since Rodney King, and in comparison has bigger consequences, right? When congress people, mayors, and the president are all pressing for a specific verdict, and the situation has been broadcast for a year, and the situation caused millions of dollars of damages last summer in the area that the trial is taking place, additional precautions obviously should've been taken to protect from prejudice. It's true, these precautions are rare. But they exist FOR these situations.
