Old footage of my 1.6 rice burner build that ran 11.0 @125mph in this video, but eventually ran 10s after some adjustments and a retune on E85 in 2015. Currently building another D16 block to hold more boost with a B-series transmission then try for an even faster times. Check my channel for the latest videos and updates on this car. I built this car for my own entertainment so i don't understand what V8 guys are crying about. The car has ran plenty of 10sec passes with $80 cast pistons and E85 which is about $1.60 per gallon. Okay that's all, thanks for looking. ;)

I love my dailydrive E46 330, I love my vintage bikes from 1930 to 1960 as well, I love my Fiat Strada, I like my little 50ccm from 1960 just for shit an giggles. World would be a boring place if everything is LS swaped. This V8 'murica freedom guys are the worst. And I like those engines too. Good job btw. Everytime ive watched this video it still makes me smile and remember why I started building Hondas 21 years ago and still DO, before they were even cool! I agree, I think the reason I enjoyed this video so much is because he used a D16, really Love it when people do something new and it works, I've seen too many B16/B18/K20/K24 Swap videos. Really Loved this one and I'm not even an inherent Honda fan. :D

Without a doubt, I feel we should just give props for great performance regardless of where it's from, engineering is engineering. However, we're just excited to see someone go away from the norm and do something less common. Something special. I'm not American myself, so I don't really have a thing for American Domestic cars, but if it's unique, I definitely respect it. I can appreciate it when someone does something new that there isn't exactly a "book" for.

Back in the day...around 1984 when I was in the Army...a friend called me up and said hey dude I want you to be in my pit crew this coming Summer. I was like "What's a pit crew?" LOL. We joked about that all summer. He took a 351 Windsor and tranny from a Mercury Station Wagon and we dropped it into a 67 Firebird and stripped the car down as much as we legally could for the dirt track. His 1st race he came in 4th place and never after 2nd place the rest of that year. Dude was knocking the socks off of Camaros and late ups Mustang IIs! Talk about fun! All you can drink beer afterwards for free and 1st place got $500 and 2nd took $250 and that was back when the Army was paying us peeons a measly $331.00 a month! So this brings back some cool old memories for me.

Well then, as an "older" V-8 guy (70 Buick GSX, 70 Monte Carlo SS454, 70-71-72 Chevelle SS454'S) I'm not crying, I appreciate hard work, effort, and dedication. Oh, the "Dart" at 4:40 looks like a 68 or 69 Pontiac LeMans or GTO. Short story, my mom's neighbor asked my mom if it bothered her that I was always in the garage working on my car, my mom said, "no, I always know where my son is, do you always know where your son is what's he doing and who he's with"? The neighbor just walked away. Luckily cars kept me out of trouble. First car was a 68 charcoal grey Buick Riviera. Future rod in garage now is 47 Buick Sedanett 50 Series. Best,

Offenhauser was famous for building bad ass 4 bangers for use in Indy cars back in the 1950s and then they put turbos on them and were kicking ass over V8s in the 1960s and into the 1970s. If you're interested in 4 bangers check out the Offys and their history it was a truly amazing piece of engine. Kudos to the guy with the Honda, also. Learning as you go and doin' what you can on your own is what hot rodding is all about. If you screw something up, you learn from it and make the needed changes. I built my first car in 1968 and I'm still doing it. Worked in a garage for an old mechanic after class, when in high school, to make money for parts and learned how to bust a knuckle at the same time. I'm all for you young guys and gals keeping hot rodding alive. There's one thing, though. I did my homework after work and graduated. It's damned important.

Dude this brings a lot of inspiration for me! Ive had my 94 eg hb sitting around 1month now on jackstands bc when changing the suspension & bushings things got a bit complicated. But what can you expect from an almost 25yrs old car in a cold ass climate (finland). Its my first car and i have probably driven it less than spent time working on it and this video is exactly a good example that you can polish a piece of shit (kinda :D) under a grand car. Hopefully one day i have the money and means to swap that d15b2 to a b or k engine. Have a good day everyone.

I had a Buick that would embaress my cousins "350hp" b18 all the time. I lined up beside an old hatchback one day and it definitely had a small single cam d series motor, I could tell by the sound of it. We both started hitting it and I never passed that thing, we were both going 130mph when we let off. He just smiled at me and I gave him a thumbs up. He had that tiny 4 cylinder moving! The car barely weighed anything I imagine.. Besides the driver. Young heavy set Mexican guy who had probably been working on his car like this one for a while. M Marks I came here to post the same thing. Definitely wasn't a Dart. It's really impressive what people can do with those Hondas. Too bad they've let the enthusiast's down lately, it seems. Hopefully the new Civics will be plentiful enough on the roads that the next group of kids will have some leftovers to build into amazing machines. This build isn't my cup of tea, but it's a downright legit vehicle. Great job. There was obviously money spent here (far more time and effort, I'm sure), so I'd think it would make sense to spend a little more up front and get a cabin that is a decent place to spend your time. Even if it's just a strip/ track car, I prefer some first world comforts. But fuck it, I'm still jealous. Great car.

Michael Marks 4:37 Not a buick. Rectangular taillights and body color front end give away a GTO. Skylark/GS had shorter, wider taillights (kind of like caddy taillights on thier side) and with a more squared off, chrome bumper front end. Also the buick had a character line along the lower third of the body...the LeMans/GTO was more curvy (like this car here) Thats one helluva Honda you have there.

fwd cars can be fast, no doubt, but not just as well as rwd or awd. For drag racing, fwd is the worse possible scenario. rwd and awd clearly have a traction advantage, all other things being equal, so fwd is a bit of an added challenge.

not a honda lover but respect it. this is a perfect example of what hot rodding is. you a car that wasn't built to be fast and nasty but turn it into one by hard work, trial and error. you can take a brand new mustang and throw parts at it and make it nasty but it was built for that. thats making a fast car even faster. this is what those guys did with model A's out on salt flats in the late 40s early 50s. good for you guys. we all build and race so there is no reason to be divided

I'm a V-8 rear drive guy and I think your car is pretty bad ass. My big block duster runs low 11s @ 121 so looks like you'd beat mine. Pump gas no power adders on mine but my engine is 446 cubes so that's 7.4 liters. Great job dude!
